Rhodes is a good center fielder, he could easily be had for the vet minimum. If everything fails I guess we could give him a shot, but he's really just a 1 year option for us. Not sure how old he is, probably 31 or 32. And the longer I think about that I guess I'd prefer Ed Reed back there again. He looked pretty good for the Jets late in the season and made like 3 picks in the final 4 games or so.

I'm opposed to bringing Ed back. He can't tackle well and he's only a center fielder. He's also not as solid in coverage anymore. When teams target him, the success rate is pretty high. That's why I want Clemons- doesn't make a lot of plays, but definitely doesn't allow many at all, and he plays a lot of man, or did in Miami.

I like the idea of Rhodes because he's versatile and with Elam, you wouldn't know who's sitting back or blitzing or what. With Reed, you have a pretty good idea.

Anyone knows what our cap space is after Jacoby's deal?

And how much we need to take off that for our draft picks?

Brian (post bellow) is the best with our cap workings, so take that as of now (including draft and all other things) and re-adjust when we know Jacoby's cap hit later today

They are now $15.657M under after the Monroe deal.

Don't know yet, but given the numbers reported so far, I would think it'll fall in the $1.875M range.

Assuming 4 comp picks, I would think it would be in the $5M range, but under the Rule of 51, as those guys sign, they are either going to fall outside of the top 51 or replace someone in the top 51, so the overall impact will be only in the $1.5-2M range.

So we have roughly 8.5/9 Million left in FA? We could get mack at 5/6 Million a year and a league average veteran at safety for that :-)!

If we get Mack for 5-6 mil per year, the Browns are stupid for not matching it and Mack is stupid for not asking more
