It's for the best.  I said he'd be a waste of time since we signed him last year.

I just don't understand how he can go from "wanting it" just a couple of days ago to walking away the day he's due to workout.  At least it seems like he's in a good place now.

"Good place", "good place", "good place" all we've heard him trying to 'achieve' since he got here.

Sometimes I hear that and it just sounds like an excuse / place-holder for someone who has no purpose (or wants to pretend they do). Maybe I'm being harsh but what has he been other than useless noise?

I was more referring to his personal life.  It seems that his children really settled him down and it at least looks like he's out of the bad influences in Decatur.  He still has plenty of problems to work out, no doubt.

Understandable and I have no means, or right, of knowing that so I won't comment on it or judge it.

Yeah it's just a guess on my part.  He's never really committed to anything, and it does sound like he's pretty firm on this one.  Hopefully for his sake it's the right decision.  I do wish him well, but I knew from the beginning he'd be nothing but a waste of time and energy.

I'm glad I didn't have his back. I knew he wasn't serious about this and he didn't deserve this chance in the first place. Now instead of us getting rid of him he quits on us. Whatever. Moving on...

Wasted talent. Don't give the excuse of saying you want to spend time with those you love, be there for yourself, take time away, etc. Just say what you really mean. I'm a lazy kid who was given golden opportunities but didn't want to work for them. That's all it is.

We shouldn't have any hard feelings toward him.

1.) We invested literally NOTHING into him

2.) Not like we were expected to heavily rely on him

3.) It's not like he did it in the middle of TC or something. He did it before workouts even started.

4.) I certainly wouldn't want someone on the team if their heart isn't into it.

I really do wish nothing but the best for Rolando and hope he finds something else that ignites the passion inside of him.

Man, this story just keeps surprising me. It sucks that a guy with talent doesn't have the passion. At 24, I would think he will want to play again at some point, it just doesn't seem plausible that it would be with us. Good luck to him, I hope everything works out for him.

Well you know, yep, I'm going to kick the man now, down or not - straight out the door.

I mean, this just says to me McClain woke up today and said "wait, it's Monday? dang, I gotta get out of bed & go work? Nah, I'll just retire again."

Dump this dude hard Ozzie. He isn't worth anyone's time.

I'd also like to add that it wasn't even guaranteed that Rolando would make the team. Literally anything of significance we got out of him was a luxury. And vice versa. The Ravens were a luxury to him that he just didn't want to take advantage of.

Yeah, everything you've stated is true and commonly know to the public Raven fan base.

Agreed 100%, Clayton Bigsby.

He let down a bunch of people with that decision, I hope he didn't let down himself as well. Well, time to move on from this kid.
