Chris Clemons was one of the top rated cover safeties in the league last year. you can't compare clemons and huff. Huff couldn't do anything.

I'd take James Ihedigbo over Chris anytime.

Anything Elam has shown wasn't good enough to be SS/FS. If we got some cap to spare, bring back Diggs. If Elam can top him off, then all the better to have some depth.

Rotoworld is reporting that we are in play for Alex Mack and that the Browns would not get any compensation. I thought they would get two 1st round picks?

I hope they start using "Down Town" Marlon Brown a lot more this year. every time I seen that kid play he blew my mind and he has awesome skills and just might be even better this this year... I just got so frustrated that they did not use him more last season.

Love your view my friend.. I think Brown proved last year he can be a solid #2 WR in the NFL.. now go get Edelman to play the slot along with a healthy Pitta and Torrey stretching the field... Our offense would be deadly.

these reporters don't know anymore than we do. They are just guessing so if what they say happens the reporter can say..."Told ya so" and make it look like he has some inside info.

He wasnt franchised, he was t-tagged. The Browns would have the availability to match a qualifying offer. Doesnt mean they can or will, but thats what would happen.

I agree that a slot receiver would be a nice addition since Marlon showed that he can use his height. But I disagree on the Edelman part. Receivers that leave the New England offense never seem to be as good as they were there. Some may disagree with Welker but I still think he looked and played better in New England. I think the Ravens are better off using the cap for an O-line so the Ravens aren't 2nd in most sacks given up in a season and then drafting Bradin Cooks or someone else like him in the draft.

From what I've seen, Brown is a #3... at best. He didn't really show me much last season. He's basically non-existent between the 20s, and is better as a situational red zone target.

Think of it this way... he was the #2 option in a passing game that couldn't move the ball yet threw it a ton, and he basically put up #3 or #4 type numbers.

Sure, he could get better, but the bottom line is... the FO doesn't seem to think he's a solid long-term option. They've got Torrey and Pitta, and they want another WR badly. That puts Brown as the #4 option in the passing game at best, and thats about a 30-40% of the snaps per game kind of guy.

And keep in mind... thats assuming we still can't run the ball. Kubiak offenses don't usually go 4 wide.

If they bring in a WR in FA or early in the draft (which they will), I'd expect to see a little less of Brown next season.

True!. If we were to get our O-Line together prior to the draft in May Id take Odell Beckham from LSU as my Slot WR.. The dude can flat out ball and did it in the SEC of all conferences.. he plays like a Raven.. I wouldnt mind him in Purple and Black.

I must say that the FO is is going to look very smart if they pull off Monroe or Mack. Tick Tock, this is excruciating.

We won't have any idea which Players to grab in the Draft, until we find out which Veteran FAs we can afford and add. Let's get this segment over with and then we can look at what Rookies we we will want to invest in. Getting Monroe locked in again , for long term, would be a good start to Free Agency

And Mack! I want them both!! Go Ravens!!! :-)

This is pretty comical to me...

So we are targeting Mack as a "backup plan"? Which means, if we land Monroe, we'll not be vying for Mack. If we end up in that situation ... how are we addressing the LT position?

Let's get Monroe, then we'll look at what our options are for handling the center position. I don't want Mack if it means we'll be bottom feeding for an LT.

Wow so many offensive players to choose from. Now Owen Daniels too. hope Kubiak lures him here.

If this is true they better try to get him fast. This may be what we are looking for. Instead of another posession receiver the Ravens can draft him and have two big bodies (Pitta and Daniels) and then draft a slot receiver like Brandin Cooks. That is if the Ravens get who they want out of free agency for the offensive line.

We should just pay Art Jones 6 mill, does that sound crazy?

No i'd rather replace him than pay that. Our dline will be hurt with an injured ngata and no jones (the real anchor) but hopefully Lewis Moore can fill his spot and play well enough so that its not a weakness of the team. We may bring another veteran too. Antonio Smith?

This is pretty comical to me...

Perhaps, but it also appears to be in line with what the FO is thinking (or at least what they have said publicly).

I mean if you think about it logically... if the FO felt great about Brown and Mellette, why would we need another WR? Why tell the public you need one, when fans think we don't?

It would appear that Ozzie sees something fans don't, which should be surprising to almost nobody.

@YankeeRaven When the colts gave D'Qwell Jackson that stupid contract. He has strong interest on the market and it looks like teams are willing to pay him that.

@rmcjacket23 i would say the jury should be out on marlon after this season. i think its too early to call him a #3 receiver. just like last year was a bad one for joe, not all of his own fault. im not trying to make excuses but i just think its a bit early to tab him as such, considering our shaky offense as a whole, and he came off of a serious injury. this year will be better to judge off of.
