We now have Smith, Smith, Smith and Smith. Torrey, Jimmy, Daryl and Steve. If you get a Smith Jersey you can use Velcro numbers and be who you want. And they all will start. Wonder when was the last time a team had four players who start with the same last name. My guess is never.

Marvin Lewis, Jamal Lewis, Ray Lewis, and Jermaine Lewis.... That was a good year!

Yeah, the Smiths took the lead from the McClains - although the Jameel/Rolando/LaRon trio never played together...

We should get Evan Deitrich Smith just to further the madness.

He's just agreed with the Bucs, so he's off the board.

Hell yeah, ... Steve Smith and Daryl Smith signed... What's the castle's address, I need to send Ozzie a thank you card... More so the Smith's for accepting the deals...

What is his number, I am about to buy a jersey.

He had #89 in Carolina. According to our roster page, that number is currently unused for the Ravens... so, I presume there's a good chance that's gonna be his number...

It's not every day you get the opportunity to sign a ultra-passionate football player. That's one of the reasons why the Ravens were so quick to go after him.

I agree on all of that. Mack might be the #1 Center but you are right that he will be too expensive. There are still a few good FA's out there.Has Green Bay's Center Evan Dietrich Smith signed anywhere yet?

Believe he signed with Tampa bay today.

I'm happier to see m.oher sign with titans than I was to hear about S.Smith today. Lol

Hmmmm. Absolute anyone? Maybe Vodka..... Ohler's days as a Raven have been numbered for awhile. His penchant for off-sides penalties killed many a drive. But... Steve Smith fills a huge void. He's physical, both mentally and physically. He has attitude the Ravens have lacked. He has proven his worth over 13 years. Derrick Mason 2.0?

Personally, I'm have no problems with either. I wish Michael the best as he was a great "team" player. He needs the change. As for Steve? This is a 1 or 2 year deal. I expect this marriage to be in both the Ravens' and Smith's best interests.

A win-win for all. Enjoy it.

I will be surprised if a team actually signs him. LOL

That's from the Senior Bowl, I believe. He has significantly slimmed down since.  I know a lot of fans dislike him, but he isn't a terrible player. He had 15 tackles last year in very limited action. B.J. Raji had 17.

Not yet..... Go Oz....

there are no options left on the market. Oz cant do anything except hope Wagner or some rookie from the draft (or not) skips a couple years in his development.

I wouldn't rule out a post-draft OL signing. There are some talented players out there still. There always are.

The teams to beat that're going to be in our way ultimately are Denver and New England and both are beefing up their secondaries. Smith was an absolute must have after signing Pitta as a second matchup nightmare for the third CB while Pitta outwits the OLBs and safeties.

On the flip side, we absolutely need a veteran but still fresh nickle CB to fill the void the Corey Graham left. Peyton and Tom Terrific absolutely carve up defenses just by outnatching their slot guys against the opponents mediocre third CBs. And if not a CB, then at least an agile third safety that can cover man but also provide run support when those guys check to runs with their stout backs.
