I think we should retain Daryl Smith and Monroe, and then try to get either Thurmond, McCluster, or Bethea to help in other needed areas.

id agree, but with out regular season experience we wont know, why sit on players for 3 years that havent produced when we can give someone like mallette a go, if he fails he fails, but if there is signs of potential growth then we know hes worth staying around.

deonte Thompson and tandon doss, have had how many chances to prove themselves? yea tandon did much better after coming back but still not sold on him

1. Doss and Thompson contribute on ST, which any way you look at it, a #3 or #4 WR on a team (which is what Mellette would be) needs to be able to do. Mellette missed essentially all of his first season due to injury, so the jury is obviously still out on him.

2. My point is very easy... if the FO thought that guys like Brown and Mellette were the future stars of this offense, why would the FO come out to the public and verbally acknowledge that we need another pass catcher? And even better... why would we bring Jacoby back?

Nothing the FO has said or done in the last year suggests that they are comfortable with Mellette and Brown as the #2 and #3 WRs on this team in the future, and I agree with them. If the Ravens were to use a high draft pick on a WR or pick up a FA WR worth something, I'd expect a guy like Mellette to spend the entire season on the practice squad or as a gameday inactive.

RSR is reporting a possible return of Rolando McLain to Baltimore this season. We'll have to wait n see.

The typical case of "who should we believe": another source said McClain's return is not imminent at best...

I guess the real situation is that he said he's thinking about returning - without mentioning any special time frame. We don't yet know how deep his desire to return is, we don't know how much his mind has cleared, we don't know how much he's in shape... Surely, we could use a healthy McClain... but I guess we should just wait and see before starting to hope.

Rolando tweeted a little bit ago that he is coming back. The Ravens have to first choice to bring him back.

2 words (especially since Jacoby might be gone)

Brandin Cooks. The guy is a returner receiver. But in my opinion i think if Jacoby left this would be one genius pick more athletic and would be our speed receiver let Torrey be our more balanced receiver, maybe even slot. Reminds me a lot of Steve Smith Wes

Welker and Tavon Austin. Hes (just so you know)5'10 189 pounds. Seems like a good pick especially since he fits our system. What do you guys think?

I hope they start using "Down Town" Marlon Brown a lot more this year. every time I seen that kid play he blew my mind and he has awesome skills and just might be even better this this year... I just got so frustrated that they did not use him more last season.

Albalto52, In my opinion that would be a solid pick, but with the way free agency is shaping up it's leaning towards more so safety, tight end, Right tackle, in that order for the draft. But like I said that is all depending on what happens in FA.

I like J Byrd , but I heard today he wants to be one of the highest paid safety's ever somewhere in the neighborhood of 9 to 10 million per year, Oz will not be bullied by the market, maybe look at M Jenkins. I really don't like Ex Steelers so for me Woodley would not be an option , but that's just me. Decker would fit nice but may be over priced, I really like the WRs in the draft this year, damn I so excited just thinking about the draft and picking at 17, c'mon May get here already!!

If Rolando comes back to Ravens and Arthur Brown steps up, just get a cheap veteran linebacker to mentor or to have bodies. Unless Daryl Smith takes a team friendly deal with upfront money and less than 3 mill a year and no bonus, I don't see him coming back to Baltimore.

Hoping for JJones return he is the best return man in the NFL, I really like the WR from Vandy, J Matthews he lit up the SEC even on a bad team.

We won't have any idea which Players to grab in the Draft, until we find out which Veteran FAs we can afford and add. Let's get this segment over with and then we can look at what Rookies we we will want to invest in. Getting Monroe locked in again , for long term, would be a good start to Free Agency

Rolondo Mcclain sounds like he will be a raven this year from his twitter account. Maybe this was Ozzie's plan all along? Wouldn't surprise me if Daryl Smith doesn't return now.

If we sign Monroe, Smith, Jones, and McClain back BOOYYY I'll be excited! And if tomorrow Jarius Byrd decides to chill in Baltimore a while we might just have the best team on paper and on the field.

Two things I have surmised are going to happen. One, Arthur Jones will move on with absolute certainty. However, Eugene Monroe will have no choice but to come back and sign with the Ravens. Why?

For one, the Dolphins aren't that interested in him because they are interested in fierce run blocking Brandon Alberts who is just a year or two older but may come cheaper and who is supposedly meaner. Albert also happens to be Arizona's top choice. Veldheer and Roger Saffold are also being more aggressively pursued by teams than Monroe.

So, where does it leave Monroe? Nowhere but to accept the deal we give him and do as he is told! End of story - Monroe is going to be signed first tomorrow - mark my words. He will act like he is doing us a favor and never really wanted to leave Baltimore yadi, yada, etc., but the truth is nobody else wanted him at the price we were willing to pay for him period.

He will accept a deal that averages between 8.25 and 9 M a year in these possibilities - 4 yrs 37-38 MM, 5yr, 40-42M or 6 yrs - 48-50M. I guarantee you the Ravens won't pay more than that. The negotiation I believe is more about length and guaranteed money than it is about $/yr!

Other positions, like wide receiver, produce more excitement, but we need to invest in the OL in both FA and the draft. Begin with Monroe in FA and pick up Martin in the draft. I have favored Lewan before, but Martin from Notre Dame is so versatile, tough, disciplined and technically sound. Forget Oher and plug him into RT. Or move KO to RT and put Martin and Monroe together on the left side. Plus, you have another team captain from Notre Dame like Kapron Lewis-Moore last year. Big plus' for Ravens targeting college team captains (i.e. Simon, Brown and Elam as well as Lewis-Moore).

I am hoping the Ravens hop on a safety early in free agency before all the play makers are gone. Elam was a great pick last year and I couldn't be happier with our first round talent, but he needs a complement, nevertheless.

Eugene reportedly in deep contract talks w/ Oz- game over.

Marcus Martin: highest ranked center in draft: rd 2 Ravens.

JuJuan James rd 3 tackle

Lee rd 1

Got your starting OL, added WR; Terrence Brooks S FSU or playmaker Ahmad Dixon S Baylor or Antonio Richardson Vols G might be around in rd 4 to stack the house for Joe.

Wesley Woodyard is a young MLB you is actually pretty good in pass coverage and run defense. He'd be an under-the-radar move that Ozzie likes to do.

I'm still advocating for Chris Clemons for the FS spot and draft a FS in case Clemons doesn't work out, plus Harbaugh doesn't like to start rookies.

I feel like Eugene Monroe is going to come back to Baltimore and I hope both sides are happy.
