Should We Trade for Chris Johnson?

29 posts in this topic

What if. We trade for him with a stipulation that Titans retain a portion of his cap money, his figure is about 8 million total, and stick this guy in Kubiak's system? We have cap room for some of his cap money. Suspend Ray Rice for a season and get out from under his cap figure this year. Imagine what he would do in Kubiak"s offense. Man!

Ozzie knows not to go after trap trades. Waste a high pick for a player who will be cut if we are patient and wait? He is a huge cap liability and considering we already have 2 talented young runners in Ray Rice and Bernard Pierce I think we are good to go.

The sole reason they're cutting him is to save cap space...

I would however like to give a shoutout to the fact that CJ is a very talented RB who has had nothing but 1000 yard seasons including the coveted 2k title as well. 8K rushing yards and 50TDs in 6 seasons is pretty great.

Hopefully he goes somewhere with a good o-line so he can get back to being the dominant runner he is. It just 100% won't be with Baltimore.

The line needs to be fixed first. There are a lot of RBs I like in this year's draft that could get solid production behind a good line.

I'll wait till he gets cut .. and signs for good money in Oakland because he runs a 4.2 .. That's a better scenario imo lol.

Would be cheaper to just let him hit the market. The overall value of RB has gone down in the last few years and he is an older back. All be it he may still have the wheels to produce, most team will probably try to hit him with a 1yr contract to make sure he can still be the guy. the need and the money to get him could be put else where and TBH, we have Bernard and he will fit the offense good enough to get us back to our old form if the line gets fixed and even if rice is out two games. Only way I see this being a fit is if we didn't have rice or Bernard for the foreseeable future.

It's been said, but needs to said again and again and again, why in the world would you make a trade for a guy who is likely to be cut?

Not only that, hes a headache who throws his team mates under the bus, makes excuses and doesn't seem to be motivated to win. Now, if you could bring him in for a 1 year deal with minimal commitment - sure theres enough talent there to justify it, but other than that highly unlikely scenario.... theres absolutely no way it happens or should even be considered.

I don't have enough flabbergasted reaction gifs to adequately respond to the stupidity of this thread.  Nevertheless, this is a definitely a situation to bust out this:

lol....but kinda mean. Our RB situation is a little murky right now, it's not like he's suggesting we replace Flacco.

He's suggesting replacing an ineffective, overpaid RB with an even more ineffective and even more overpaid RB.  Think of all the money invested in one increasingly rotation based position.

Lol trade for Chris Johnson lol. He's basically another under 4 ypc back. If he doesn't have a monster Oline creating holes then he just runs up the middle and falls down like Ray rice. He might get a couple 11 yard runs to balance that out. But with our Oline woes still yet to be resolved or seen. I can't see Johnson doing anything for this team.

Also Johnson never accepts accountability, when he has a bad game he always blames it on someone else. They didn't run it enough, the Oline isn't blocking I'm running the same etc. Even Keith Bulluck said it in a radio interview a few days ago.

Late round draft pick at RB would be suitable. Storm Johnson , Isaiah Crowell ( former Georgia bulldog ), michael dyer ( also full of potential )
