With the owner of the Lion's, Ford, dying...

12 posts in this topic

Sorry to hear about Mr. Ford's death. Poor Lions fans. They just get a new HC that might be able to get them on track and now they will have to deal with a new owner and all that it will entail. Wonder how much of Caldwell's contract is guaranteed.  Anyway..   RIP Mr. Ford. I am sure that the Lion's fan appreciated how much your loved the team.

I will be watching the situation in Detroit with some interest, as I am originally from Wyandotte, Michigan, near Detroit.

What makes this really sad is that in 51 years of owning the Lions, Ford never saw a Super Bowl appearence.

Because he did a piss poor job running that team.

This especially considering Al Davis

And the pre-salary cap era, and Barry Sanders, and the talent they've had at times (like now).

51 years and they haven't had a Super Bowl appearance. No other team has managed to attain that level of mediocrity.
