Woodyard would be a decent option, he is a great cover guy but can't quite handle the running game as well. We could get him for fairly cheap and then make sure we get Rolondo McClain back and I think we are in good shape at ILB.

That's what I was thinking if Daryl doesn't work out.  Sign Woodyard since he isn't likely to be all that expensive, and bring Rolando back as well.  Hopefully we strike gold on one of them.

DeAngelo Tyson is a downgrade from Art Jones so we're going to take a hit to our run defense there, do we really want to line another coverage MLB up next to Brown?

Rolondo would help in the run defense and Bynes and McClellin are good there as well. What makes Daryl so good for us is his coverage ability and his smarts and I think Woodyard has both and would be a nice fit. Also we can get a run stuffer in the draft for DT and there are a few guys out there that are good there. We could roll with a big guy like Ellis to go with Williams and Ngata in running situations and we would be fine.

im worried that we wont get a FS in FA. clocks ticking on clemons and i see no viable options in the draft. clemons will probably end up a steeler by tomorrow. though i do see ryan clark as an option, always liked the way he plays but hated him with a passion because he was a hard hitting steeler

Relax...like I said, we are going to wait until the storm settles. Panic payday atm for day2.

Wait a few days, and we'll find our guys @ the right price. Like we always do.

DeCoud would also be a good fit if we don't get Clemons

Agreed. I talked about him a while ago and everyone hated on me for it. I think he could have a bounce back year and if not we cut him. Simple as that.

Doubt it. Steelers signed Mike Mitchell and extended Troy so they are pretty much set at safety.

I'm starting to think we're looking at either Pryor or Clinton-Dix with our first pick in the draft. I think Pryor would be a great pick there.

I'm thinking the same. I do really like Clinton-Dix quite a lot .. And obviously the Alabama connection is there. It does worry me to pair a rookie FS with Elam ... I don't know if Ozzie is bold enough to do that.

Yeah he seems like an Ozzie signing and could at least provide competition for Omar Brown

There is nothing wrong with Clinton-Dix imho but @ pick 17 its a reach and he will be gone before our 2nd pick. Same with Calvin Pryor. Good players who I think will succeed but there is FAR better value @ pick 17. Which is why we will have a FS FA.

With a definite shortage of FA safeties (and it's only day 2!) and likelihood of getting both McClains back, Corey Graham is quickly becoming way more important to re-sign than Daryl Smith. It's now also questionable whether we'll have room to sign both.

reports said a few hours ago that clemons was brought in for visit with the steelers, and this was after they signed mike mitchell. maybe they believe, just like me, that mike mitchell isnt quality starter material? a DC like lebeau can never have enough db's

Graham working on 3 year deal with Redskins.

Im not concerned. I believe in either Chykie or Asa , or maybe even whichever late round corner we take ( which we also do "can never have too many good corners"

Well I think the Ravens will sign Chris Clemons or draft Jimmie Ward to address the safety position. Cornerback, well I think we'll address that during the midrounds of the draft. Maybe a guy like Stanley Jean-Baptiste

Unfortunate to see Corey go, but he's another guy, much like Art Jones, that deserves that contract.  He worked hard, took advantage of his opportunity, and played well.  He really meant a lot to this team.  He played a huge part in 2011 when Webb got hurt, and really helped us make it to and win that SB in 2012.

Yeah Graham was a big part of the Ravens. I don't think we panic and get anyone in the first but this could open things up in the second or third for a corner.
