Free Agents To Consider: Defense

I'm still open to taking a small chance on Kendrick Lewis.  He's been bitten by the injury bug the past couple of years, but his first couple of years in the league definitely showed that he can be a playmaker.  I imagine that he'd be cheap enough for us to be able to take a chance on someone like that.

Kinda late to the party, but I'm sad to see Graham go.  He is a solid player and a stand up guy. Considering Webb's terrible play last year, Corey's departure creates uncertainty. It seems we will now need to bolster depth at CB.

Good for him though, he gets to play in his home town!

...uh, what? Granted, I missed quite a few games, but of the games I did see, Webb wasn't the worse CB between him and Graham. Graham looked bad to me in the beginning of the year. I know he straightened it out but regardless, he did look bad at a point.

Graham provided valuable depth at corner and wasn't expected to be "the guy" and IMO played much better than Webb in general in 2013. Not saying in the long run Webb will not return to form, but he flat out sucked last year and hopefully improves in 2014. Regardless, we need to bolster depth at corner.

I want to see us take a run at Henry Melton or B J Raji. Both are great DL guys and since losing Jones we need some fresh blood there.

Is B.J Raji  a defensive end or north tackle?

I like him in the slot actually. I think he would be fine there. Keep Webb outside.

Personally, I'd love for us to sign Clemons. I know it's not a great solution but a one year deal would be good for us and him. I also wouldn't mind signing Cook if he gets past the Niners.

sadly he's going to be a jag

Ravens resign S Jeromy Miles to 1 year deal

Quality STer.  Had a feeling he'd be back.

That is a bit of a shame. I understand where you're coming from, but as another already stated, they perhaps knew they couldn't afford him and just gave up. I think we feel very comfortable with our depth on the DL. I think that's why we let him go. I'll miss Jones a ton. I loved that guy from day 1.

Or they rather just get the high comp pick. Drafting Jones was a total success. 5th round pick, contributed to a title, will likely get a 3rd or 4th comp pick from him and he got a well deserved nice pay day. I'm truly happy for him but I'm glad we didn't invest that into him.

any chance Ravens inquire into Vince Wilfork if Pats release him? Not saying they should just wondering if they inquire to get an idea of his asking price

I would think he would be out of our price range. And he's coming off a major injury. Id pass.

I wouldnt be opposed to bringing him on if he'll take a small contract since he's 32, but i doubt he'll take a small contract from us if he can get a big one from a DT needy team

Well Chris Clemons will not be a Raven... Jaguars signed him to a four year deal. The Jags did a huge overhaul on their defense.

…..They signed the DE, not the S.

Just realized that. Hard to determine who is who with social media and them both being free agents. I am hoping the Ravens have some interest in the safety. I'm surprised he's still on the market.

It's rumored around Twitter now that the Eagles have signed Chris Clemons.  No official reporters have tweeted it, so I have no clue how true it is, but it's worth mentioning.

Didn't they just sign Malcolm Jenkins the other day?

Report is stemming from a Fins reporter.  Obviously nothing confirmed, but it does look like there's significant interest there and something could be getting done,

Doesn't mean they won't upgrade.  I'm on mobile so I can't check in, but there's apparently serious interest in him from the Eagles, if he hasn't signed which looks like the case.  Apparently the Rams have a lot of interest as well.
