Free Agents To Consider: Offense

Because Richardson is one of the most overrated players in quite some time. Had no business being a first round pick. He's an average talent at best.

Playing behind the best offensive line in college football blurs who is really responsible for the success

Alabama players are having a reputation of not being productive enough in the NFL. Aka... Overrated. Lol

Did you even watch him play? He did profit off having a QB like Brady but the guy is one of the toughest receivers in the league, he makes the toughest catches, he's a guy you can count on, he catches virtually everything thrown his way. Plus he's one of the elite return men in the game, maybe even the best. To make it sound like anybody could have done what he did last season because of Brady is silly. The guy worked for his 100+ catches and his 1000+ yards. I'd love to have him here. Jacoby would never even be able to sniff close to 100 catches in NE with the same "supporting cast" (they all pretty much suck except for Brady).

Who would want jones to catch 100 balls? That's not his game. The pats are expecting amendola to pay off. They aren't going to overpay a mediocre talent. Remember Deion branch was successful in New England as well. Neither should we.

Nicks would be the ideal pickup. The giants offense is not too dissimilar to what we want to run. He would be the most reliable target flacco has had since mason. He is only 26. Too early to say he's too prone too injury. His price tag is currently reasonable rumored around 4.5 mil. And open to a one year prove it deal.

Prediction:

Decker to the Colts

Edelman to Carolina

Who here is still pulling for Alex Mack? The Raven will still have around $18 million after the Monroe signing, so plenty of cap left for Mack. I'm getting giddy at that thought

I'd pull for Mack if the price is right

So the number went down just 3 mil. after the Monroe signing? No idea what the numbers look like but I find that hard to believe. But if that's the case we should be able to go after Mack and Byrd. But I really doubt that.

Brian McFarland (a cap guru and most reliable outside source of cap info outside the Ravens own front office) reported it's estimated to be $3.2 million. It's similar to what Pitta got, not too much more. Cap hits are likely in the same ballpark

It's going to be less than that.  The NFL had our cap at $18.9M after we tendered all of our ERFA's.  They made cap adjustments this morning so that $25M we supposedly had wasn't true.

As safety goes, the best option left is Byrd, all the other safeties has been signed elsewhere. I think if he is willing to be reasonable, then it could happen.

I thought I saw $19.2 million, but I wasn't sure what it was in reference to. The reports are just all over the place. Still, even if they only have about $15 million, that's money to get Mack and Clemons

Sounds awesome if that's true. And if that's true that means Ozzie/Eric are trying to bring in some more high profile players to count against the cap this season. They're not gonna backload Monroe's deal like that just for the sake of having a lot of cap room this year...that'd be a waste. And we'd be in trouble for no reason in the next few years.

After the Monroe deal is settled, we'll probably have in the $15M range.  As you said, all of those numbers are out of whack right now, but I'd say $15M is a close estimate.  We'll likely have to allot $3M or so for draft picks though.

$3 million wouldn't be bad at all. $12 million in cap (I could still see Koch going) allows the Ravens to get a center (please Mack) and a safety (Clemons). Those would be the two most important to me since the draft is weak. I think re-signing Daryl Smith is becoming less likely after the Jackson and Dansby deals, which makes me sad

Bengals released their starting Center Kyle Cook. I think we should sign him instead of Mack. He's 30 years old, 6'3 and 310 pounds. Bengals had a good line last year and when we played them didn't seem to me that he was a liability at all. Seems like a quality signing Ozzie will do and it will give us more time to figure out the future for our center position.

Haven't heard too many good things about him on Bengals forums. Most seemed to want him cut.

Wow, I am so glad we got Monroe taken care of. Finally get our LT of the future locked down.

Next FA signings that need to happen (order):

Daryl Smith

Owen Daniels

Steve Smith (pending release)

Eric Winston

Jacoby Jones

I don't know if Daryl Smith or Jacoby (or Graham) are going to stay in our price range, and I don't see Winston as being high on our radar. I think the other two (Daniels, S Smith) are very real possibilities, and would be nice additions. I honestly think we use some of our cap money on a De le Puente, Daniels, the best value at receiver, and then after all the big ticket suckers use up their money, we pounce on a RB and CB. Then we draft for a safety and hope Wagner can play RT.

Move Owen Daniels to the top. Two time Pro Bowler, familiar with the new offense, and perfect for our Kubiaks two TE sets. Get him in ASAP.

He's not a blocker and is way similar to Dennis Pitta. Not going to be a high priority
