But I could cut a player to match that or exceed it as has been done before if I recall...

you can yes. STM cut a player before making his bid it appears

I'd have a problem with that because you'd be doing it knowing what I already bid

you could also cut someone again and bid more

I realize the issue thats why I'm trying to get this sorted out as I should've had a fair shake. I would've cut Conte regardless since I grabbed his replacement in Clemons and a backup in Godfrey which would've allowed me to match that bid...

I think he is stm85's anyways.

With your FA signees, Miami Hurricane has 9 spendable stars - stm85 bid 10.5 on him.

He's allowed to cut players before making the bid.

Damn, Adrian Wilson for .5 stars? I know he's old and all, but...

Propably, because of his achilles injury last year, but if he can get back to be in some way the player he used to be he's a bargain for .5 Stars

How? Same thing happened with Lamarr Houston in DL FA

It wasn't 30 minutes after the Final Five bidding period. And I just canceled a bidding on another player because I wasn't challenged.

It wasn't the same.  He sent in his bid, but never posted in the thread that he wanted to bid again.

He's a safety I've always liked a lot. If fully healthy, he'd be a great veteran presence.

Not sure what you mean on you second statement, but in response to your first I don't believe there is a time limit

The time limit is from 7:00 to 7:05. It's been in the rules since last season. There's a short grace period thereafter, but it's well under 30 minutes.

Oh ok, wasn't aware of that. What was your second statement about?

its meant to be five minutes, but we've allowed a bit of a grace period, just a bit, not half an hour, I mentioned in an earlier post 15 minutes is more reasonable

Sorry about that. What I meant was, I landed Derek Cox by mistake. I wanted to post two identical posts, but had accidentally put Cox's name instead of Greer's in the second one. SecretAgentMan wanted to bid. I was considering attempting the bid, but since I was under the assumption that Greer was on my roster because he wasn't challenged, I figured that I would allow him to have Cox.

So what is going on with Shields?

I stated I was collecting bids right after the close, didn't receive one from Miami Hurricane (still haven't). I did not make the call to give Shields to stm85 until 7:15

I haven't sent one because I didn't know how we were handling the situation... I'm prepared to whenever. I even asked if I should and didn't receive an answer and prior to 7:15 you said you weren't waiting on my bid so I asked about that and didn't get that issue noticed until after a winner was announced...

Miami Hurricane and stm85 will have to bid for Shields. It's unfortunate for the latter, as his bid was posted. But you didn't receive a bid because the former was attempting to figure out what was going on, as there was obviously a mistake made.

Seeing as he'd have to make cuts to even match my bid, I don't see how its fair for him to be able to make cuts and then bid with the knowledge of my bid.

Me too, he's a LB playing safety with actually quite good cover skills

Berad I believe.

I definitely understand that. It's a very unfortunate situation. But every GM prior to this scenario was allowed to cut bids in order to up the ante. He reserves that right as well. If we don't allow him to bid because of a mistake made by the upstairs, then it would be unfair to him as well.

Because I was tallying off what I had left and was going to cut conte before bidding and then I saw I wasn't listed as a bid being waited on.

I'd feel differently if he had the space to make the bid, but this gives him a ridiculously unfair advantage and I don't think any bid above 9 should count.

Is there some sort of compromise way to decide who gets shields due to the unfortunate circumstances. We could bid again and you have an opportunity to make some cuts as I've already made mine? Or maybe just at flip a coin type scenario with a random number type thing held by a neutral party?
