Brandon Browner

I think Browner is fast enough to play on the outside but not mobile and agile enough to play safety. It's simple as that.

Good points.

The only guys on here who are not 6'1" are Ryan Mundy and Reshad Jones and both are close to 6'2" I just thought they were bigger off the top of my head.

Barrin and Decoud are 6'2"

It actually depends on where you look because I got 6'1" and 6'0" respectively when I just googled it

That's exactly it.  He's fast enough to keep hold of a WR in coverage, but he doesn't move or play well enough in space to be a safety.  Why has that been so hard to comprehend?

Honestly I just enjoy arguing for the sake of arguing, I don't know if he could play safety especially FS but it seems unlikely.

Just use NFL.com

Do those go by the official team websites? I'd look for official combine stats, but I'm a little too lazy to put a little more effort in.

I could see Brandon Browner as successful SS.

It's possible, but we already have a SS. I wouldn't be against paying him #2 money, but theres the age and red flags against him.

How do you not include Kam Chancellor

Probably because the first safety to come to my mind (Earl Thomas) was not over 6'1".so I was brainstorming beyond the Hawks.

I'd also say that he's not even that fast and the only reason he gets by is because he can press the hell out of a WR. I doubt he could play well in an off-man system or a zone system where he wouldn't be bumping. The only thing he can really do is press man on the outside.

Why are you so negative all the time? And that's not a pun at all your posts getting negged lol.

Well.....It's not popular, but I'm seeing so many poor moves, there's so little to be positive about.

Rather than pitch it as Positive vs Negative, the pragmatic thing at this point is to call it correctly.

Most here really thought we were going back to the Championship last year.  I'm on the record stating we'd miss the playoffs and would be no better than 8-8.

Before Kubiak was certain we'd be 6-10 in 2014. Now, not so sure. Stepped it up to 8-8, but want to see the players lost and gained in Free Agency and whether Oz can hit his weight in the draft. Guessing not, but want to see.

Brandon Browner is a good player and so was Pollard. If we could get Browner and have him play he could be an asset. If he could become a safety maybe all the better.

If we could get Veldheer and shore up the weak safety spot we might have a chance. But we have made so many mistakes of late.

That's what I'm waiting on to before getting all hyped up over this or that!

I feel like everyone suggesting sign Browner as a safety is missing the boat. He is a press man corner .. and a very good one, end of. He has never been a safety .. nor does he possess the qualities (besides size) to be a safety.

Browner opposite Jimmy Smith w/ Webby in the nickel would definitely be a secondary to be afraid of.

We have Jimmy Smith and Ladarius Webb playing the corners. Why would we pay a big, slow cornerback to miss 1/4th of the season only to come back and play the slot against smaller quicker receivers? Unless your plan is to replace Webby or Smith? Which probably wouldn't be the best plan ever...just saying

The answer of those who don't understand.

Also, I replied to your comment about the Pro Bowl.

No harm to you, but from bloods posting history id wager he knows a lot more than you.

In saying that I don't think bronwer would be good in space

No point unless he comes just dirty cheap.  Dude will either be brutal, or fail another test.

Are we talking about Browner any more or are we just sniping each other?

A bit of both because the chances of the Ravens wanting him are next to none and I'm not sure he fits the Ravens scheme since they don't even play exclusively press man with Jimmy

Even before considering that, I'd like to see him perform without the juice.

I always thought he was overrated. I prefer Walter Thurmond III to him and now Byron Maxwell is showing he's pretty good. Without PEDs, does he even make a roster?

Not only that, but I'd love to see all of those CB's in a different system.  I think Sherman would be fine, but some of those other guys I'm not so sure about.
