That didn't save Bernard Pollard.

Pollard was a different situation.  Canty is staying.  It makes no sense to get rid of him.  As already stated, you aren't going to find an adequate replacement for what you'd save by cutting him.

That didn't save Bernard Pollard.

Bernard Pollard was awful in coverage, good in run support, mouthy, and good for a 15 yard penalty a game. Canty is just solid all around and a great leader.

I would much rather give Mack $6m per year than Monroe $9-10. That's the direction I'd take if it were up to me

Can't have both? :(

I'd rather go with De La Puente than Mack, and I really like Mack. I think he will be less expensive than Mack, who's an All-Pro at his position. If we have a shot and it's not much of a difference, I'm all for Mack but if we're talking a couple millions in a difference of price, I'd rather pass and use that money for other stuff.

I would be thrilled if we signed Byrd, more than if we signed Mack and that's a statement. The problem is he has had his injuries and he is looking to be paid and paid well. I can't blame him, but I'm not sure we can afford him and Monroe and Flacco and Torrey & Jimmy Smith as well as Daryl and I'm sure you guys get the point.

6 years 37.5 million for Jason Kelce of the Eagles, since people are so hyped on PFF, he was their #1 Center last year. I think Mack could be had for roughly the same price. I'd pull that trigger.

I think you can depending on the cap hits of Daryl, Pitta, and Monroe. I expect all three to be locked up, and with the cap expected to exceed $130 million, we'd have around $22 before they're signed. After, you'd hope you still have like $10, and then you can cut Leach, Koch, and McClain to try to land Mack and a receiver. I don't know, I'm being very hopeful. Most people seem to agree that the Ravens should go for Mack, including John Eisenberg
