Browns Front Office Changes

20 posts in this topic

The Browns promoted Ray Farmer to general manager from assistant general manager as general manager Mike Lombardi is leaving the organization. CEO Joe Banner will step down in two months.

Team president Alec Scheiner remains in place.

Browns made wholesale changes to coaching staff after one season. Now time to do the same to the front office, I guess.

I feel bad for Browns fans. What is their owner doing? He brought in 'his guys' when he first took over in the 2013 offseason just to dump them all a season later.

Wow how are the ever going to become a winning franchise without any consistency anywhere .The have so much young talent its easy to see why they have zero success . I feel bad for the fans as well.

Makes you happy as a Ravens fan to have such a strong and consistently successful GM and front office running things. Cant wait to get back in the hunt next year.

Sad....... especially compared to the rest of the division.

Ravens: 2 Coaches since 1999(Billick and Harbs)

Bengals: 1 Coach since 2003(Marvin Lewis, 11 Years, though he has deserved to get fired)

Steelers: 3 Coaches since 1969!!! 45 years and only 3 Head Coaches.

Browns: Since 1999, they have had 8 coaches in a span of 15 years. They have had so many quarterbacks start I have lost count.

Not even Al Davis or Dan Snyder wasn't this bad. Haslam is reaching Jerry Jones territory, and that says a lot. Only thing Haslam has to do is mismanage the salary cap and he is on the same level as Jerry.

The Browns being the Browns.  It seems like, regardless of whoever owns the team, there is no commitment to building anything sustainable unless it's an instant success.

Well with all that mismanagement they beat us last year.

Our ticket to the playoffs has always been Cleveland and they knocked us out even with sorry Banner, Lombardi and Haslam

That was THE loss I think. It is between that and buffalo but I thought we would come out of the bye better than that after losing 2 straight. That loss was unacceptable.

I was at a Ravens bar in Palm Beach, FL for that horrendous loss to the Browns last season.

The only thing I had to console me was that I was drunk and it was 80 degrees outside when the game ended.  So glad I wasn't up here in the miserable November cold.

Apparantly Haslem wasn't happy with how long the HC search took. I do like the move of Farmar to GM tho. He wouldn't even interview with Miami. So that says something about the owner tho that he's better than Ross down in Miami in his opinion. I also liked the way Haslem admitted that he's learning on the job. The way I hear is that Haslem was advized to bring in Banner by people involved in the NFL.

A lot of Browns fans seem happy by the move but my best advice to the Browns organazation is "Give them 2 yrs at least". Lol.
