Legitimate OC and franchise QB for the first time

Kubiak's time in Houston is irrelevant. He is not the HC anymore. He may not have been the best HC but as long as he does his job, he doesn't have to worry. he will be working under a SB winning coach. This is looking like a great staff all around.

How the heck anyone questions Kubes abilities as an OC is beyond me.

"In 11 seasons (1995–2005) as the team's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, Kubiak helped lead Denver to two Super Bowl titles. In his 11 seasons with the team, the Broncos amassed 66,501 total yards and 465 touchdowns, the most in the NFL during that span. He coached 14 different Broncos that made the Pro Bowl, including running back Terrell Davis, who was named the NFL MVP in 1998."

just wondering what makes you say he failed in Houston? If you mean he failed to win a super bowl, then yes that is true. Then again the majority of people don't accomplish that. But if you look at that offense under Kubiak it was consistently one of the best offenses in the league. He turned Matt Shaub into a 4000 yard passer and covered up his deficiencies about as well as you could do. I would say Kubiak is very very legitimate. I cannot make many predictions because those can always come back to bite you, but I will say I believe Kubiak, having to only focus on the offense rather than the whole team, will have a profound effect on the offense this year

Not to mention, it's been proven over and over again that top notch coordinators can be terrible as HCs and vice versa, and often when they return to what they're good at it's like they never left.  Wade Philips comes to mind - look at what he failed to do in Dallas, but then look what happened when he went back to being a DC in Houston.

Meaning the last 3 years Kubiak and the Texans were favorites to win the Super Bowl with their stellar defense and offense.

But they not only get knocked out of the playoffs but don't even get to a AFC Championship game at least one time.

Kubiak failed there but maybe going back to being a OC will help him succeed.

Agreed they were heavily favored and I also agree Kubiak going back to an OC will really pay dividends i believe. I think more than Kubiak failing however, is that Shaub is just not a super bowl caliber quarterback. We have seen that no matter what happens, quarterback play is crucial to winning a super bowl and Shaub just made too many mistakes to lead a team there. Also you gotta remember the Ravens knocked them out one of those years, so we gotta be happy they havent gotten to the AFC championship that year

I really hope, that the playcalling ends up being more dynamic in Baltimore than it was in Houston.

Last season, we started out trying to run the ball alot and being "balanced" (the same thing Kubiak's system promises) and it didn't work out at all and only put Flacco in a ton of 3rd and long situations.

I do hope, that some of our offense from the second half of last season DOES carry over and that Kubiak will be able to adapt the offensive playcalling to what the defenses give him, which wasn't always the case with his system with the Texans.

I guess, the hope is, that it wasn't the system that was limited in Houston, but their QB. Well, Kubiak has a SB caliber QB now, so you can't complain about lack of talent at this position.

The same goes for Joe, I suppose. I never believed in Cam or Caldwell as playcallers, but Kubiak certainly comes in with a much better track record than either one them.

Both are coming of lackluster seasons, that had supposedly alot to do with the lack of talent around them and it's time for both to prove doubters wrong. Let's hope, those "kindred spirits" can feed of each others aspirations. I bet, both of them would like everyone to forget about last season.
