Why would you trade Trent Cole? He's like a better version of Suggs.

 

He doesn't fit the 3-4 that well and I needed a safety. Reggie Nelson is one of the best coverage safeties in football and I more than adequately replaced Cole with Suggs.

Yeah it only saves up to a certain point.  Count out your 51 players and whoever is left over doesn't save you anything.

Well Cole was a beast last year in a 3-4, but I can see why you want Nelson. You still downgraded your pass-rush though.

I like what Jacksonville is doing down there. If the QB they take this year is good, they're definitely on the right path. It's more a question of their FO, Gus Bradley seems like he's a great coach.

Suggs has never been a better pass rusher than Trent Cole.

 

 

But he's been a better overall player.

 

They've both always been pretty complete edge players. Cole has probably been more consistent in his career but Suggs is the better player when dialed in IMO. Both can take over a game rushing the passer and both defend the run well.

I love Ngata as a player and person. Plus, he's still a beast and one of the best NTs in the game, great in run support

Well yeah, Suggs is still extremely good against the run, even if he is declining a bit. It's not like he is a bad pass-rusher either, but it's never been the best part of his game.

 

Trent Cole at his best is an absolute fiend getting after the QB.
