I've found some more prospects some I'm going to participate a bit longer now than I said I would.

So I am up now correct?

Yes.

I am curious and too lazy to check… how many UDFAs do teams typically bring in?  By time I'm done, I'll be bringing in 24-27 if I stick around for one more round.  That seems crazy to me.

So the order for us 4, since we seem to be the only guys participating, is...

Dallas Cowboys

Jacksonville Jaguars

Dallas Cowboys

Seattle Seahawks

Cleveland Browns

Take your time. I'm right behind you and I'm still doing some scouting myself.

You're good.  I'll be around and I'm up right after you.

I also think I've made the executive decision to continue through round 10 of UDFA.  1 FA tonight and hopefully both remaining rounds of UDFA we have scheduled and I'll have 90 players.

I might grab a few more guys. Just haven't had time yet.

The signings are announced. I've just discovered Donte Foster today, and have come away both impressed and surprised that I haven't stumbled upon him sooner. His ability to track the ball and come down with possession in traffic is outstanding. He may only be 6'1, but he plays like he's 6'3. The 4.4 speed isn't always evident on tape, but the 42' vertical is. I have probably a 6th round grade on this kid. Eric Pinkins has shown promise against both the run and the pass, and has good eye discipline. And I selected Taylor Martinez just because. He's flashed some ability to deliver the ball with accuracy, but I'm not at all sold on his arm. I have no idea where to slot him, but I didn't want to hold up the process any longer. At least I'm being honest.

I found an error in your draft order. The Jaguars do not go twice in the last round of UDFA...

giphy.gif

Oops.  Fixed.

The final round we have on the docks has it as:

Jacksonville Jaguars

Seattle Seahawks

Cleveland Browns

Dallas Cowboys

I will officially be out after this round.  Not sure how long you guys are planning to go and how you want to do the order going forward, but I imagine all of the skips won't make enough picks to get to round 11, so I guess you guys can just do a rotation.

I am out after Round 10, Can't have more than 90 players and I have 5 FAs I want to sign. I don't know if anyone wants to continue past that anyways

The signings are announced. Snagged the top rated LS in Marcus Heit. Doubled dipped at McNeese State, Northern Illinois and San Diego State in this UDFA period. Some big time football factories, am I right? Anyways, I'm done with UDFA for now, but I'll try to get some scouting done tomorrow, and may snag a player or two. The scouting time frame for these last few rounds has been almost non-existent. Don't take my name off the list just yet.

Heit was signed already.  Round 3 by the Saints.

Wow. And here I thought I would be able to avoid making that mistake for yet another season. Appreciate the heads up.

Guess I should explain my very last signing.

No one has probably ever heard of Ryan Schlothauer, and rightfully so.  He went to Maryland and spent time as a backup TE and STer.  I think he had 1 career catch and didn't see much playing time.  So why did I select him?  He went to my high school.  He was a senior when I was a freshman, and he was one of those guys that everyone knew.  Nice guy as well.

Last year, he was stabbed in Towson and spent a good amount of time recovering.  His story and comeback has been on the news lately and I figured he was a guy that would really love a shot on an NFL team.  He's out of college eligibility so this is his last shot.  Even better that I know him personally.  He said in his interview that he was willing to learn any position, and thus, I'll be giving him a shot as a LS.

That's very admirable of you. Hope he sticks with some team.

He himself admitted that he probably won't even get invited to a tryout, but he's still out there trying to play some football.  Figured at this point in UDFA, there's no reason not to give a shot to a guy like that.

And it comes to an end.  I now have 91 players (don't worry, 1 is on PUP so he doesn't count) on my roster.  I didn't expect to take it this far, but there was way too much value to be had late in UDFA, and I figured if I had made it that far, I might as well just fill up an entire offseason roster.  It's been a joy.

I have to thank you again for making me aware of Heit, as it was a blessing in disguise. I went back to the board and unearthed Mohammed Seisay, who is a perfect fit for my CB scheme. He's a tall, rangy and sneaky athletic prospect with the ability to shadow his assignment, good timing and good eye discipline. He also has an NFL body and showcased impressed athleticism for a player his size at his Pro Day. He can be a bit slow in getting to the WR when playing off man, but fortunately, he'll be deployed in a press scheme.

I was surprised he was still out there as well. I would have picked him at some point in these late rounds if I hadn't already picked up 2 developmental press corners.

Ah. I'm glad you were aware of him, as I was not. Who are your two CBs?

Shaquille Richardson is the first one. He's more of a zone CB now but he can play press. Needs to develop in that are. Brandon Dixon is the 2nd. Both I had rated as draftable.

I haven't seen film on Dixon, but that's because he was picked by the time I came across his name. Richardson I can't recall because of all of the crammed scouting lol Hope both pan out for you. I'm sure I speak for the both of us in that we'll both have a long list of names to follow when the season comes around.
