Report: LT Eugene Monroe one of Ravens' priorities

With an hour left hopefully Eugene Monroe signing comes along soon. He has got to be reading all the news about how the LT frenzy is about to breakdown. His best bet is to sign what Ozzie put on the table.

This feels like an 11th hour thing.

According to NFL.com Monroe has a few offers on the table but none high enough to relocate his family for the second time in a year BUT he wants the Ravens to increase their offer.  He doesn't expect a deal close to Brandon Albert's 9.5 million per season but he wants to approach that amount.

I'm sure there is, and if I was Ozzie I would do as much as possible to make it happen. I don't care how much money would be invested into our o-line, it would be worth it.

I don't see that stopping us from signing him.  I'm sure we'd like to get it done before all of the other top LTs sign and Monroe is the only one left in the market.  At the same time, if the cards play out that way, we're probably the only team left in the market for him unless some surprise teams comes out of nowhere.

Thats a really good signing for the Cards.  Seems on the cheap side tbh.

There is always some completely unecessary drama this time of year; Monroe probably could have signed the exact same deal days ago without causing all this stress lol.

There is always some completely unecessary drama this time of year; Monroe probably could have signed the exact same deal days ago without causing all this stress lol.

It's understandable, this could be his biggest contract ever and he wants to get as much as possible.  Of course, this means I'm still gonna be nervous until the ink dries.

Edelman would be a huge upgrade over Jones. He's just as good a returner and a way better receiver.

No. Not at all. Jones is the best returner in the league. A great outside deep threat in offense. Edelman is a slightly above average return man. He is an average slot receiver. Looks good in the pats offense. Not a fit for any offense the ravens have ran or any kubiak offense I have seen run. If jones and Edelman want 3 mil per yr each. Take jones all day. The dolphins will overpay Edelman.
