i wouldn't give away the bird at hand for the one on the fence; there are vet centers at reasonable tags that can be had this year

I would be excited to get Mack and would be more excited to have the best Center in the league over Monroe. Now obviously that leaves LT open but maybe Ozzie has a draft plan and we find our new LT for the next 10 years or so.

Would not mind at all. KO (assuming he comes back healthy), Mack, and Yanda?

Dat interior tho.

Isn't Monroe the one more on the fence since he isn't sure if he will take our deal or not. I wouldn't give him any more money if he is just on the fence and can't decide.

Monroe has not gotten any better offers than what we have given him I would guess and this is his last effort to try to get us to raise our price. I say we hold firm and if anyone else offers what he wants, we tell him to let us know and we will match it

I wouldn't match it. If a team is willing to give him more, then let them. We'll just take a OT in the draft in the first round and have him under contract for 5 years cheaper than what Monroe would have cost over 5 years.

That's a fairly optimistic way to look at the draft.  More than likely no LTs will be available at 17.  At least not one who is worthy of the pick.

I don't think another team is going to give him more unless Oakland jumps in the fray at the last second. And I don't think anyone is going to offer him insane money even if it is slightly more than our offer. If he was going to get 10 mil per, someone would have done something by now so it would not be much higher than what we are giving him if it even is higher at all. All current offers from other teams are not much higher if at all because they are not enough to get him to walk. If it is just more, we could match. If it is too high we would let him go. We could make an offer on Mack if he walks. We would have to trade up for anyone of the big tackles worth taking however. I like Martin as well and he could be there and maybe that could be our move however. I don't like that one as much though, a FA Center transitioning to a new scheme is a dangerous signing considering all a Center has to know.

That's all it has been since this morning. Something seems wrong that if we were close, a deal would have been done. Either Monroe raised his asking price and Ozzie has moved on to figure out how to get Mack, or Monroe is just waiting to see if a team like the Raiders jump in with their truck load of cash.

Edelman would be a huge upgrade over Jones. He's just as good a returner and a way better receiver.

With an hour left hopefully Eugene Monroe signing comes along soon. He has got to be reading all the news about how the LT frenzy is about to breakdown. His best bet is to sign what Ozzie put on the table.
