UPDATED: MESSAGE BOARDS CLOSING AFTER DRAFT   03/08/2017

After careful consideration, we have decided that we will sunset our message boards after this year's NFL Draft. Since we opened our boards a decade ago, the digital landscape has greatly evolved. While we understand there remains a smaller group of highly-engaged fans who participate in conversation in our forums, a significant amount of the dialogue about our team and our games has migrated away to other social media platforms over the past several years. Our message boards will remain up and running through Friday, May 5th, and will be removed on May 6th. We recognize that this change may upset avid members of our community. However, we look to utilize our time and resources to focus on how we can best connect with our fans across an array of digital/social outlets. If you are not already engaging us and other members of the Ravens Flock on our Facebook page, Instagram account, through Twitter or Snapchat, we invite you to follow us on those channels and continue to participate in our social communities. In addition, the commenting feature on our website articles will remain intact. Members will be able to continue using their boards account to log in and share their thoughts at the bottom of every news story. We’d like to thank all the Flock members and our moderators who have brought thoughtful conversation to this space and made our community great for the last 10 years. Ravens Social Media Hub »

Ravens players in NFL Network's Top 100?

21 posts in this topic

I was pondering about this LONG and hard and I was wandering how many, if any of our players would fall into the top 100 this year.

Last season I do believe that we led the league in players on the list with 9! This upcoming season I think we'd be luck to have two.

Okay, we do have the best kicker in the game today, but Kickers don't make the list. Yanda could very well make the list, but I felt that he should've made it last year as well and only 6 linemen made the cut, so that's shaky.

Then we head to the defensive side of the ball. Our serious candidates are Jimmy, Suggs and Doom. All three could very well make the cut, if any of them do I highly doubt that they'll be higher/lower (however you see) than 40.

Who makes the list?

Probably going to be a rough year.

Sizzle, Jimmy, Yanda, and Haloti (name) all have very good shots. Other guys like Doom, Tucker, and Art Jones have outside chances.

None of our usual guys from offense - Joe, Ray - will or deserve to make it.

You have to remember this is based on name recognition for the most part. Players only get 10 votes, so they put down the names that jump to their mind first.

Someone like Eugene Monroe was our best offensive player, but likely won't be on the list because he doesn't carry the name recognition.

I would bet Sizzle and Doom make it. I'd guess Torrey has a very slight chance, but guys like Art Jones and Jimmy don't have the name recognition that other players do.

Suggs makes it on name alone. Tucker?!? He probably should make it, but I doubt a kicker makes the list. It's possible, but highly unlikely.

Suggs will make it on the first half of the season and on his reputation. Ngata could make it off reputation and the handful of splash games he had this season.

While Yanda and Monroe were bright spots on the line and played admirably considering the circumstances, I think they don't have a chance because our line was just awful this year.

As much as he disappointed me late in the season, Torrey Smith does have a shot at making it.

Jimmy Smith better make top 20 or I'll be surprised.

I'd be surprised to see Jimmy make the list at all. He just doesn't carry name recognition.

When does the list start premiering?

Suggs, Nagata, Flacco, ( yes I believe so ) Yanda. Tucker wont. He is a lowly kicker.

Torrey maybe.

suprised no one's mention torrey. He was tearing it up for us this year and would've put up more numbers had we had more passing targets. Easily one of the most underrated wr's in the league and without a doubt a top 100 player

If we used Torrey for more than a deep threat I think he'd have a good chance...maybe next year in Kubiak's offense. Tuck should get a nod, but they never pick special teamers...although he could change that with his big personality.

If anyone, I agree with most people above...Suggs, Ngata, and maybe Yanda

Here are the ones that could make it: Suggs, Dumervil, Ngata, Jimmy Smith, Jacoby Jones and Torrey Smith. Of course, if they include kickers then Tucker.

suggs and ngata may make it based off of their big names alone. joe flacco possibly(doubtful) could be very low on the list with the narrator saying things like "we still have to give a super bowl mvp from just 2 years ago some credit" or something like that. ray rice could make it based off of his name. but the ones I see realistically having a "chance" based off of performance alone are:

tucker, hes not a regular kicker, dude had one of the greatest season a kickers ever had, and he is a well known character in the nfl.

daryl smith played lights out all year, it would be a slap in the face to not have him at least in the first episode.

dumervil slowed down numbers wise at the end, but still applied constant pressure all year.

jimmy smith deserves to be a top 50 player but man on man shutdown corners make it based off of name and reputation, so jimmy may not be there yet.

yanda had a down year so he might get snubbed again.

torrey is a long shot

but realistically, I see us having 3 players max on the list.

exactly what im thinking about tucker. I think hes got a real shot to be the first kicker to make it. the dudes reputation skyrocketed this year

Tucker will definitely make it and rightfully so.  As far as any other Ravens?  Don't know!  Perhaps, Jimmy and maybe even Jacoby due to his returns.
