Yes? Of course? Duh?

I mean there are teams that still don't have one. I'll take one every 10 years...

Are you guaranteed 1 every 10 years? Can you still get more than 1?

I feel like this is off topic..from the Ravens.

1 every 10 years. Thats it. Not 2..not 3...just 1.

It depends.  If we win one, is it guaranteed that we won't win another for 10 years or is there still the possibility of winning more?  If it's only one, no, I'll take my chances.  With those odds, you miss out on your team becoming a dynasty, or maybe breaking a record for most SBs in a certain span.  With the known, you miss out on the unknown and what potential your team could reach.

Theres some negatives and positives...but I think I would...

Absolutely - it would suck to be a fan of a team like the Chiefs or the Eagles, knowing entire generations of fans have never seen a Superbowl victory.

Or like I said, even if you don't win one except every 10 years, at least you know there won't be some fans out there who might live out their entire lives and never see the team hoist the trophy.  That's a really scary thought to me - I mean, I could be cold and in my grave before the Chiefs win the Superbowl, and how many Chiefs fans will have lived never seeing the Chiefs win?

Too bad for them.  As a young Knicks fan, I will probably never see them win one, but that's what comes with being a fan.  I feel if you know you will get one, that kind of cheapens the experience.  One of the greatest aspects to me is, you never know if you will or won't win one.  We've been blessed to see 2 for the Ravens, but say you're a Seattle fan before this.  You know how much better it feels now having waited it out.  Even if you don't get to see them win you still get to see good teams and would appreciate that at the end of the day even if you never see them take home a championship.

nope. knowing whats gonna happen is just not the same as watching a live football game. watching a replay of our super bowl wont have even 1% of the excitement as the first time you watched it, and just knowing in year 10, that once you make the playoffs, no matter what happens, ur gonna win, why even cheer when you see the big plays? it would ruin the entire experience for me, matter of fact, by the 2nd super bowl win, I would be rooting for another, less predictable franchise out of pure boredom

The ravens do this.

Why isn't this locked?

because its an interesting discussion and in no way bears any seriousness to football related issues and shouldn't be taken seriously, and is clearly a topic that's just here for fun. maybe that's why this isn't locked. were not all here to be analysts, were here to converse.

I'd probably be thinking differently if I were a Jets/Bills/Lions/Browns/Jags/etc fan, but I agree with this. I know it's easy to say while we're not starved for a Lombardi, but I think I could live with the wait if it meant enjoying the prize more.

(I like how most of the teams I listed were AFC sides too)

nope never, for one the other 9 years wouldnt even be worth watching and two its always interesting to see if your team is good enough to repeat . If I was a browns or lions or jags fan then yeah but thats only because those teams havent even been to a superbowl let alone win one

Im just happy we have a winning organization with a general manager and front office that are absolutely keyed in on winning Superbowl titles. Ozzie just seems to know how to build winning teams and knows exactly what it takes to get to the playoffs and from there to the super bowl. And now we are right back in that stage of rebuilding and preparing for our next run. I feel like 2014 we will be back as playoff contenders...and let the hunt commence once again.

well no for several reasons... as the Olympics are just around the corner, "The important thing in [add the competition of your choice here] is not to win, but to take part; the important thing in Life is not triumph, but the struggle; the essential thing is not to have conquered but to have fought well"... then, as some of you have already pointed out, the knowing spoils the excitement and without fun there is no sport... and lastly, when you start being complacent about something, then you are not competitive anymore, so one should always aim high, set goals, dream about making them and work hard in order to achieve everything you set your mind to

No, the great thing about sports is not knowing whats gonna happen.  If this was the case, for 9 years watching the games would be pointless.  And the 10th would be kinda pointless too since you know the outcome

yea it would be different if my team had been around for ages and never won anything. so its a easy choice for me to make a fan of a team who averages a super bowl every 9 years of their existence lol
