I'm against team assignments but I like the idea of an ordered team selection. Better than having milliseconds decide who gets who like last year.

we could list teams in order, from texans to seahawks and have everybody put their names vs one or more

i do believe arranging the owners from 1-32 randomly and having a draft for teams is the best idea though

we could even have a day or two for owners to be able to trade teams between each-other by adding draft picks or players to the deals

I'd say no trading assets for teams as it would give an unfair advantage to certain players for simply winning a random drawing.

Agree with this but I like the idea of drafting teams based off of 1-32 picks. Make that random so it's fair, but then people get the team they want based off of where their pick is. Makes sense.

First come first serve has been fine every other time we've done this.  The time zone difference has been a problem for everything, it's not like the way free agency mimics reality or is really fair to a lot of people.  Have someone try to act on your behalf or deal with it and move on.  There's no reason to get all worked up about it.

Just maybe a draft order can be used, and we each pick a number and then use a random number site to generate the draft order. 

 

I can run the random number generator myself and be the one in charge of that.

 

On one of the random number services, I can do a Number sequence with no repeats where it will give me a random order that uses all 32 numbers. Once I have a number for everyone, I can type in the min and max as 1 and 32, it will give me a sequence and a random order between 1-32.

 

Then I can post it and we'll know when we pick teams.

I agree, I have the site and can easily generate a sequence for the order of picking teams. So once I have everyone's number then tomorrow we can pick teams based on the order.

That's what I was thinking. That would make things easier, nobody would have to PM me with numbers. If everyone is alright with that, I can get it over with now and post the order we pick teams.

We have the CoCo to decide what to do and we are voting on it now.

Whatever works.  I'm not picky.  We just have to make sure most people are alright with this randomized team draft.

So, based off of what # person I was that signed up (say, if I was the 8th person to sign up), then my number is 8 to go into the random number generator to determine draft order? Just double checking before I agree.. if so, I'm down.

That was my idea yea. It's the most fair and efficient way to do it IMO.

I completely agree.. having a number generator is random, but so is having your fingers crossed and wondering where you fall as far as teams go based off of internet speed and timing. That seems like a safe, understandable option.

Personally, I think that's a really bad time.  I know I won't be home midday on a Saturday.  I assume a lot of other people will be in the same boat.

Sunday then? I know it's impossible to get a time where 32 can agree, but Friday or Saturday evening is generally a worse time and we can't do it too late because of TZ issues.

Also is there clarification that league activity ie trades cuts etc don't begin at 1:01 Saturday but after the sof pages are filled out and a specified open for business time begins??

I just think any time you do  midday on a weekend, you eliminate a lot of people.  I know I spend pretty much all weekend doing the stuff I wish I could do during the week, and I'm sure a lot of other people are the same.

 

That's primarily why I proposed the random order.  We're never going to get 32 people at the same time, so why not give everyone an equal shot?  That's just my opinion.
