I'm not guaranteeing it's 100% correct, but it's a good starting point and seems to be accurate so far. Just trying to make sure everyone is on an even playing field in terms of the math.

I guess we can right off the 49ers. You don't really look like a guy with a plan.

See, I'm a guy of simple tastes. I enjoy a decent guard, a nice SS and a young WR. You know what all three of these things have in common?

They're cheap...

Bonus just cause i love the line- "Everything burns!"

That's not how it works. Suggs is probably a bad example because he is in the last year of his contract anyway, but in no way does the team receiving a player take on more than the base salary.

The special cut rule just applies to the team trading/ cutting a player as a way to save some extra cap if there is a lot of dead money associated with the contract.

gabe, sorry for bothering again, but want to get things right in my head lol

I understand the issue with sizzle being not such a good example, nothing really was/is easy with him, his salary and our cap hit, but one can only love the man lol

in the Rules Thread you only refer to the above (bold text) as "Special Cut rule", can you please add the Trade wording to it, so it reads "Special Cut/Trade rule" (and wording "Each team is allowed to make ONE CUT / TRADE...")

so now for the first question lol... let's say I trade a certain DT we Ravens got lol... so by applying both the special and the trade rules, it should give me a saving of 8.5 stars (player's base salary) that then gets paid by the team that will acquire the player; still this player's cap hit for 2014 is $16, so I'd have to settle for paying the other 7.5 stars that becomes dead money/stars in my books?

also, can we please have a 48 hours window for signing own FAs as per proper life? pretty please! as this will get owners (like me lol) a bit more time to get themselves in better terms with their team; I know, me and my questions lol, still a novice in this so appreciate all help

now to Franchise section... will I be able to sign Monroe to a contract in the first seconds of free agency (if no above 48 hours window approved), thus immediately creating some cap space I can work with?

the Rules Thread says that one "cannot restructure contracts"; so am I right to assume I cannot extend Webb's by two years and level this year's cap hit?

phew that's it! so far...

So was it ever decided if there would be a restructure or extension ability provided to teams? Because it would be a fantastic for some of the teams struggling with ridiculous contracts and in my case Cutler's ridiculous cap number...

How should that be possible?

Whats The contract you would pay? Impossible to do imo.

But the change in Trade rules is something I dont like

Same goes for restructuring technically would ne easy converting The Base into signing bonus but its not fair as we just play a game that doesn't put you in a disadvantage with your future cap.

And we have already extended the Cap by 5.5 stars that should help a lot of Teams.

5.5 isn't bad, don't get me wrong. I just don't want to cut Cutler because that's unrealistic since they signed him to a 7 yr deal but a 22.5 cap hit is a bit hard to swallow.

I'm sure there are some cuts that you can make.

Of course. I can probably clear 7 rather easily if need be. I just wish the bears had never re-signed cutler to such a deal. He's too injury prone to deserve it. Plus if it costs them Melton and another big defensive talent or one of Marshall/Alshon (Not this year but in the future) it'd be an even poorer move.

Got my state of the franchise and depth charts up---See depth chart for guys I am attempting to trade. I will be honest, look at their caps first so you know what you may be getting into.

While the Steelers cap sucks--I am at -4.5 stars--they really are an easy fix for being in a decent cap spot. Did not know they traded their third to the browns though, what a terrible move

They held on to most of the guys I cut for them last year. Except harrison. Just delayed the inevitable. They have young guys in a lot of spots. Just need to let them step up.

I'm pretty surprised the Patriots made it to me.

Their cap situation is far from bad. I was expecting much worse with the third to last pick

I may have to do the same, they have alot of young talent tucked away on their team. Plus alot of them got playing time this year with the injuries. Ex. Vince Williams at ILB, Shamarko Thomas at S, Beechum at LT. I respect them alot from front to bottom, my only wish is that they would stop restructuring at some point and just cut some players and move young a little quicker. We do the same some times so I am kinda working with the glass house throwing rocks metaphor
