I mean he was a pitcher with potential, but he never lived up to it. I met him at shoppers a couple of years ago and got his signature and everything..he was a really nice person.
Andy MacPhail is definitely making changes and making them with authority. what are your thoughts on this?

I am kind of sad to tell you the truth. I saw him pitch in the Minors years ago, and I have liked him since. I believe that Daniel has a bright future in the MLB with another team. Daniel is good he has great games at times and the majority of the times he is eratic and wild on the mound. Besides Guthrie who else is any good on the O's pitcher wise.

I hope he finds a pitching coach that can tame him, i really do also. He's still young, he's still got time to improve.

Do you have orange colored sun glasses on guys, he was not good plain and simple. Yeah he has potential, but so did Ryan Leaf. Fact is he can't control any of his pitches, and hasn't shown any improvement over his 4-5 years here. People point to the yankee 1-hit game a couple years back, but he can never be consistant.

I wish him well, but I think this is a step in the right direction. I think he can be great, if he ever gets control, but I think hes past that point now. Very emotional guy who lets the pressure get to him too much ala Kyle Boller.

48-59 5.05 ERA Career #s.... not great

His ERA was 5.25 last year, and 5.55 the year before.

I'm not saying we have someone that can fill in and be an impact player, but I dont think keeping him around was helping anything either.

About time he is gone, i thought maybe would of could traded him for cash, but oh well.

This also leaves a hole in our ration

as of now it'd be.....

1. Guthrie
2. Olson (oh god)
3. Liz
4. waters
5. Baez (maybe, wide open)

Well it takes time for some pitchers to blossom than others. I mean sure it was about time for him to go, we've given him the chance, but who's to say he won't fare any success in another team? you never know.

I agree with a new team he might just unload his talent.

Matt Albers looked to be very solid as a #4 or 5 guy as well, he was looking good until injuries ended his season

I like matt albers in middle-relief. he did an excellent job of spot-starting and being that 4th or 5th-inning guy to set it up for the setup man. lol.

But i think our future starting rotation could look like this:
-Guthrie
-Waters
-Liz
-Olson/Patton
- Tillman

Isn't lowe kind of old for our team?

I am not really sold on Waters, he had some good outings but he just does not look to me as a good starter. And Liz looks like a Daniel Cabrera Jr, he is fast and not that accurate. My starting rotation would look like this.

*Guthrie
*Pick up a pitcher
*Pick up a pitche/Patton
*Tillman
*Bergesen

It's about time in my opinion. I agree that at some points since he's been here he looked phenominal, but for every one of those times, he had 4 bad outtings. I give Guthrie 1 or 2 more seasons before he's a 20 game winner. As for the rest of the rotation, Olsen is the only other half decient starter we have. I'd like them to try to rotate in Jim Johnson (our MVP pitcher of last season IMO) as well.

I can't wait for the prospects, Matusz Arrieta and Tillman, to get more experience in the minors. All three of them were in the top 50 of Minor League Players according to milb.com. And then you have Matt Wieters, who I've been excited for since April. I just hope we can get Teixeira so we have a big hitter to convince BRob and Markakis to stay longer. If we can get all the pieces together I may finally see a winning record season that I can remember.

I dont think Lowe is that old for us I mean he is 35 but he is still good. Last year he had some pretty good outings and had a nice season. I think Lowe could teach some of our young pitchers some things, dont forget Lowe pitched a no hitter in 02 so I am sure he can teach us something. I would get Lowe for 3 or so years because he still has his stuff.
