Gary Kubiak hired as Ravens Offensive Coordinator

Harbs just said we might have to hire a receivers coach, so that means Hostler could be gone.

Yes! Yes god Yes! Yes god please yes! Yes! Yes!

Really like the hire here. Read on NFL.com that one reason the Browns backed off him was he wanted too much power, and one thing we have been saying is Harbaugh refuses to give his coaches full reigns. Maybe Harbuagh had a little change of heart but either way I'm happy to see a coach come in who will have more control of the offense and be able to change the overall scheme some rather than a guy making little "tweaks." Say what you want about Kubiak but I believe Flacco is better than Shaub and obviously better than David Carr, so I am really excited to see what he can do with this Ravens offense.

Kubiak should be a nice fit with Castillo, and Ray Rice will be pleased by this development.

Wonder who our ideal WR2 in this draft pool will be now.

If you're listening, he's really ducking the question.  This just seems like it was a mess behind the scenes.

Harbaugh actually saying some good things in press conference. The offense won't be Broncos' or Texans' Offenses it will be the Ravens' Offense built around our personnel to be a downhill team..

The key thing is actually building the offense to suit our personnel rather attempting to force guys into a system that doesn't work..

Kubiak: Jacoby is like one of his own children.

That's great news, just maybe this is what could keep Jacoby here.

You come to some awfully presumptive conclusions.  It's more like things are in a state of flux rather than any "scandelous" mess behind the scenes.

Why must everything have a negative spin...........damn.

"My wife is tired of me being around the house" :229031_rofl:

So when do OTA's start?  I'm hoping our guys get going as early as possible on working with Kubiak.

Are you guys watching? ANy hints on what his approach to Joe calling audibles will be? As in, will he he have his hands cuffed or what?

People around here idealize everyone in the organization.  The fact is people in the NFL are just people, they're just as flawed, catty, and horrible as the rest of us.  If you think it's all kittens and cookies behind the scenes, you're incredibly naive.  Especially with the egos you're dealing with in a league and a sport like this.

Kubes said they'll figure out what Joe's comfortable with.  We'll see what it actually means.

We are even more attached to the Texans now. We got their coaches and players. Its like the Ravens and Jets 2009/2010

Not necessarily a bad thing.  For most of Kubiak's tenure, their problem was not the offense.

Yes, if you download the app I believe it is hosted as well. That is, if you have a decent internet/wifi connection

Thanks.

Harbs said they vetted 30 names, wow.

I wonder what Ed Reed thinks of this?

who cares? Yeah he is a Raven all star but he aint on the Ravens right now. Same with Ray Lewis. We need to move on from what THEY think.

Except for the fact that we tend to do much better with former Texans than the Jets did/do with former Ravens.

I apologize for being ignorant, but what do you mean by "vetted"?

Well it certainly sounds like he may be open to it.

Or it might mean Oz and Harbs just threw Joe in front of the bus and said, "Kubes doesn't allow audibles - get with it" then not good...

I want him to retire a Raven. He was key in our superbowl run and he makes big plays even if he don't get all the stats.

They look into their backgrounds, talk to some people about them.  If you're familiar with the term being used for political candidates, it's probably a similar process.

Hired the guy I wanted to see get the job.   After the dust settled, I love how methodical the organization was during the process..    The media had me all upset.

Exciting times ahead.  Go Ravens!!
