Week 15 - Pittsburgh Steelers At Baltimore Ravens

1,455 posts in this topic

This loss was hard to swallow in so many ways.
Firstly, there's just something so frustrating about being beaten unjustly.
Secondly, it was like the Ravens of old (last year), solid D until the 4th quarter, and NOTHING from the offense.

thirdly, it seems that we had way more guys injured in the game, which probably means they were more physical than we were, and that doesn't sit well with me.
Oh come on, not even you can say that the refs were spot on in this game. And that Holmes was CLEARLY in.
Neeps, I thought it was close. Probably even called correctly on the field. But you know what? The Ravens got away with no less than 2 HUGE plays that contrinuted to the closeness of this game. At the end, the breaks due to ref screw ups were even. I feel very strongly about that.
I totally blame Cam Cameron and the rest of the offensive coaches who came up with this pathetic gameplan... McClain gets nearly 100 yards and we don't run it on that 3rd down play that knocked us out of FG range late in the game?
I was pretty dissapointed. I thought for us to win this game. We had to be unpredictable. We were very very predictable. We ran on first downs, we pass on 3rd and longs.
cause the ravs d is overated when we really needed them to get a stop they didnt and thats why we loss im pissed and just really wish we were a good team i frickin pissed . And the thing that got me upset is well i now you loss games in a seasoun but out of all games i wanted the ravens to win this the most . So we could split them and get into the playoffs . And because i always want us to beat the steelers but out of every loss this hurt the most now i think im bout to change in to a diffrent team fan. Not cause im not a ravens fan cause they loss games like this which hurts the fans more then them cause the fans love there home team. But losses like this i mean i was more upset about this loss then the one to the colts in 2006 because at least that seasoun we made the playoffs. Im just pissed and qish we had a better team i dont care what anyone says this team are pretenders.
Other than that whole paragraph, that statement alone made no sense.

I know you're upset. But c'mon now. You don't switch teams and say you're still a fan. That's like saying you're a vegetarian but you still eat meat. Or you're lactose-intolerant but still love drinking milk and eating ice cream.
Opening kickoff. BLATANT HOLD on the Ravens not called. That left us on the bad side of the field position battle for most of the 1st half.
BLATANT HOLD on a Raven 3rd and long (on Harrison..., and you KNOW YOU SAW IT TOO). led to points for the Ravens.
That's only two. I'm sick of the whining about the refs.
Don't get me started with the holding, Pittsburgh gets away with more holding than any other team in the NFL.... Oh, and by the way, you're telling me the Pittsburgh DBs didn't commit ONE Defensive Holding, Illegal Contact, or PI all game?

Look, that was a GREAT game! We had it in the bag and gave it up. The refs didn't lose that game, we did. We had a chance to kick a field goal and go up by 2 scores and gave up a huge sack that was almost a turnover. Then we let them drive 90 yards for the touchdown. Regardless of the call at the goal line, we were still getting beat. I honestly think doing as well as they had been doing, they would have gone for it on 4th and a millimeter and probably got it. Then we would have only 20 seconds, vice 47 to come back. We had 2 timeouts, and 53 yards to go for the win. It was still in our hands, and unfortunately we couldn't make it happen. We are still in the running for the playoffs, we played a GREAT game and just came out on the short end. Great job Ravens. See you all in the playoffs!

To be completely honest, I believe it if Fabian was still in, we WOULD HAVE WON that game.

You're citing holding, like the kind of holding that happens on every play?
When we're talking about 2 goal/ first down line stands that we made, and were taken away from us?

You have no case.

Ha! We didn't win against the Steelers and he wants to swtich teams. That's not a fan one bit. I have to much time and love invested in this Ravens team. We don't win this year. I'll be ready to go come draft day.

I'll side with you all against any Steelers "Troll" that tries that garbage. You'll get no crap from me. I know it sucks (we knew it would for one side coming in). I just don't want to hear any crap about the refs. Both teams played hard. The refs screwed/helped either side throughout the day. I'm sorry you guys have to eat this one. It doesn't take away from how strong an opponent the Ravens are to anyone they play.

He shows us 5 holds, we can show 6. He ups that to 9 we can do 10. Holding happens every play, it's all a matter of who gets caught. A stop on 3rd down is definitive. A TD is definitive.

Holds are different then plays that got reviewed by the booth.

Come on, in the heat of the moment, you can make a mistake, but then if it goes to a review the right call should prevail. Its bs that the booth is missing so many calls, even the sd vs. pitt game there was a huge blunder.

I'm not saying officiating lost the game, but it definitely didnt help

I appreciate that Warden. But you're going to hear a lot about the refs. Usually I give the credit to the refs. But even I am having trouble right now.

I'm still mad about this loss.
I'm usually long into my 'upset phase' at this point post-loss.

Thank goodness you won't be like that. Major props for having class and not rubbing this loss in our faces.

If we lost just based on how we played, there would be no complaining but that last call by the refs was completely bogus. Thats why everyone is ticked.

NO Dave, i have a major case. I merely mentioned two plays that had a major impact on the entire game. I was pissed from the opening kickoff and when I finally let it go, it happened again. I'm sorry if you guys feel you were wronged but don't think for a second that it was one sided.

I think if that last Ed Reed tackle would have stood, and we went on to win the game, he would have won DPOY.

But surely you must appreciate the difference between a goal line stop being taken away from you, as apposed to a missed holding call?
We made the play at the end. I think we'll just have to leave it as a respectful disagreement.

Remember the code of conduct guys and girls.....I've already deleted some posts out of here....but I'm getting tired of doing that....so... I'll not only be deleting the posts, but handing out warnings as well.

And I'm just as p o'd as you are.

However win, lose or draw...I am always a Ravens fan.
