CB Richard Sherman

Yeah that was a funny video with Sherman. Now I think Sherman is the best corner in the league. He talks his fair share but he is able to back it up and that is what counts. But if you think he talks too much, you clearly have never heard of Deion Sanders, I don't think anyone in football talked more trash than he did in his time. But that is what works for them both, it allows them to get into the receiver's head and can play with their emotions which plays right into their hands.

Sanders hasn't stopped yet

It's fascinating to see someone so single-minded about the game. Every player talks about having a chip in their shoulder, but it's so rare to actually see them do anything other than talk.

Here's a guy who got dropped down to the mid rounds of the draft because his coach badmouthed him, and has devoted himself completely to studying tape and becoming the best corner in the league because he feels like that's who he should be. He might not be the best corner in the league yet, but he's probably the most intelligent. He's the kind of person you build your secondary around, because he has the wisdom to know that studying tape is the way to be successful, the intelligence to analyze what he sees and understand how to use it, and the passion and athleticism to put it into practice. I'm sure people will disagree with me, but I think Sherman is a once in a decade kind of corner.

Reminds me of my favorite player ever.

Sherman made one play. One play. Against the Broncos he's gonna have to show his tackling ability against the bubble screens. As far as I know the Hawks don't delegate their corners to cover a certain receiver so he's gonna have his hands full with 3 diffrent type of WRs. It's the big stage. Peyton will throw his way. If he want to be known as the best corner in the league this is his time to shine.

No, Peyton ain't gonna try him like you say he is, he is gonna get tight windows to throw they have the best secondary. Plus Thomas and chancellor roaming looking to make the play. Only reason he got one play thrown to him because the 49ers receivers were covered. Wow the Sherman hate is incredible

I still prefer Peterson than sherman, but sherman is an elite CB in the game top 3 for sure no debate. I wish he wasnt so i dont know the word but after watching all his bad highlights, the trent williams slapping him, his personal attack on skip bayless, who cares if he bad mouthed cranberry sauce i mean crabtree, but the first two point just made me not like him as a person thinking that he is better at life then everybody and that he is on higher ground then people, and that do turn people away....got mad skills but he should be grateful to pete carroll because he turned him into a CB, he fell to the 5th round because he was a WR coming out of Stanford. But sure I would love to have him, or I should say I would love for Jimmy to be just as good or better

You can hate his wagging mouth, but you have to give the guy credit. He is good at what he does. I wouldn't mind seeing him in purple and black, He hasn't been busted for drugs or PEDs. He doesn't have a string of paternity suits or legal actions following him. All he does is run his mouth. I could live with that.

We need another fax fiasco....

Not likely, the NFL decided to allow players to electronically sign their contracts.  They'll be able to sign their new contract before a fax machine has finished printing all the pages.

Uh, he was targeted twice. The fact that he made any plays shows how dangerous he is.

Exactly. If a receiver gets targeted twice it means they were blanked and had a bad game. But if a DB gets targeted twice it means the QB probably didn't like the looks they were getting on that player for most of the game. Definite win for the DB.

Suggs' trash talk is a little different. I've never seen him smack an opponent on the butt and get in their face after the game ending play. Then go on TV roid raging about how Crabtree talked bad about him when it never occurred.

Sherman & Crabree have history. Beyond that the man put his hand out & said "good game" to whiny 49er man who then smacked him in the face. The choking thing was a bit much - understood - but where was the flag for the head smack?

Agree. Classless and full of excuses.

I don't know why his the exception to everyone else.

If any of our ravens player did that, they'd be thrashed all week.

I love how Sherman is classless but we're ignoring Belicheat flat out saying his former player intentionally injured someone. Ignoring the fact that Sherman was trying to congratulate someone & they smacked him in the face. Yeah, Sherman is the classless one.

I love Sherman and how he plays but why was he mad at crabtree? in my mind i thought he would be mad at Kaep for testing him, not crabtree for running the route. who knows, maybe Crabtree was talking smack behind the camera. either way that was a big time play made by a big time player on a big time stage. Thank you Richard for letting me not have to listen to those whiny niners for 2 weeks especially their coach.

He & Crabtree have history. There was a previous interview etc etc.

I don't agree with how he handled himself on the interview...  APPARENTLY, he tried to congratulate Crabtree on a great season, and Crabtree headslapped him...  after a long game of running his mouth...  I'm sure they both ran their mouths the entire game...  and considering what this game meant, there were some feelings coming out of Crabtree reminiscent of last year...  but there was no need for either of them to behave that way...

Richard Sherman.....  coulda handled it better.

There is no apparently about it. There is an NFL mic'd up that has the entire exchange. Sherman put out his hand, said "good game man" & Crabree smacked him in the face. I'm still wondering where that fine is from the NFL.

Absolutely!  I love Sherman.  My other posts were worded maybe a little better...  I do think that they caught him off-guard.  There is a reason that the Niners wouldn't release their "mic'd up tape".   They most certainly have a history.  And to make matters worst, it is ALWAYS like the media is looking for a story to go into Super Bowl week with.  Last year it was the resurrection of Ray's "deer antler spray".  This year it was Sherman...

Ravensd, that was pretty clearly taunting. The butt slap before it, the running around making the choking sign, and the post game interviews (multiple) showed what Sherman meant by it.

If he really wanted to congratulate Crabtree, he could have done it post-game after he had time to cool off and as is customary. Not sarcastically, right after the Seahawks extinguished any 49er hope.

Sherman acted like a fool and he got called on it; the media has way over-hyped it, though. It caused him to backtrack from what he said. I won't label him as "classless" or anything but he acted stupidly and had probably rehearsed it (notice how he said the same things in his two post-game on-field interviews).

edit - I don't even want to stick up for Crabtree, either, because he's a loudmouth, too. Unlike Sherman, though, he is a "sorry receiver" lol.

Its not the first time this guy have done it.   As much as I don't like Brady, he did the same thing to him.   Brady never even met the guy and sherman ran up to him and started taunting him after a win.    That's not classless?

Sherman is clearly the best in the league right now... not only do QBs not throw in his direction, but when they do, he's gotten INTs or PDs.

I'd take him on the Ravens in a heartbeat.

It's funny people say he made 1 play.  First, it was THE PLAY, second... I want them to go back and watch tape.  Tell me how many other times Sherman was really tried that game?

Sherman said Brady told him to see him AFTER the Pats had won the game(while the game was going on).  Sherman went to cash in on a bet Bradys game didn't cash.  How is that Sherman's fault?

Then he ran to Twitter and posted it only to take it down? Invite the reaction then backtrack.

I hate when players retract statements/tweets or whatever it is, but you don't know what the reason might've been.  The team might have asked him to do it.

Thinking about it, the Seahawks will dominate 40whiners for a long time or as long as Sherman still in Seattle..

Lol @ Ravens fans complaining about trash talk.

And Brady got what was coming. He told Sherman and Thomas to see him after the Pats won. Well, the Pats lost.

With how many run-ins Sherman has had with opposing players or teammates (at Stanford), this isn't exactly an isolated incident and goes a little further than "trash talk".

He likes to taunt guys then retract.

That's fine as long as he can back it on the field. But I don't remember Ray Lewis ever backing down from what he said and he almost always walked the walk after talking the talk.
