Super Bowl XLVIII Thread

It's funny how all the Peyton fans are blaming the team for his dismal Superb Owl performance. If they'd been there when he broke records by running up the score on teams like the Raiders and the NFC East sides and saying those records were a team performance, I might respect that opinion.

His records were a team performance, but at the same time the people detracting from him as a player for this are ridiculous.  He's done so much for the game, and despite his struggles in the playoffs he's still in the conversation for the greatest QB of all time.  It's just tough because people get caught up in the moment, the hyperbole, and the media's narrative.

There's more talk about Peyton failing than just how great Seattle was last night.  They had an excellent gameplan which they executed as well as they possibly could.  On offense they gave enough looks to throw Denver's defense off, and it just piled on in the second half when they were able to just pound it with Lynch.  Say what you will about Carroll and his coaching staff, they did a great job getting their players in positions to succeed.

I absolutely respect his talents and all, but it just feels like there're a lot of double standards going on (from both sides I guess).

As for his place in the greatest QB convo, I don't really get into it that much because times change so much that all we're doing is speculating, but I think he'll be remembered as a better version of Dan Marino. Great player that (almost) never got it done.

Was anybody else waiting for the stadium lights to go out in the beginning of the third quarter?  I am curious about how Ray Lewis feels about this.

Super Bowl XLVIII ratings have been released, and to no surprise after the blowout, the ratings are down from a year ago. The over night rating was 47.6, down from 48.1 in last year's Super Bowl that featured the Ravens and 49ers.

Everybody loves Raymond.......Lewis

I don't remember Manning taking a snap under center last night. Those draw plays were very weak and predictable. Also it's 3rd and a mile and they go for a draw play when down by 29pts. The hell were they thinking? This game reminded me of Joe Calzaghe vs Left hook Lacy. Lacy was a good fighter but his style was made for Joe to obliterate him. I feel the Denver Broncos were made for the Seahawks to brutalize.

WHO in the AFC could have beaten the Sea Hawks Sunday night ?

The Colts beat them this season, and that's not a good football team.  They're not unbeatable, they just played exceptionally well and Peyton played poorly.

So what's this about Peyton telling Pete Carroll to pay up? Seems like a bunch of hoopla as usual, but does anyone know anything about this year's "super bowl being rigged" theory?

That was a parody article...
