Flacco bashers need to give him a break. He is not the reason we called a predictable offensive game all season. Joe also probably didnt enjoy getting knocked down every time he dropped back to pass.Give him credit for not calling out his o-line that was the worst in the league !

@RavensInsider "Among extensive list of Ravens coordinator candidates, including Norv Turner, team is interested in Packers QBs coach Ben McAdoo, per source"

I hope these reports are true and we are going out of house.

I can live with that. It's encouraging to see they're looking at out of house guys. I think Flacco with a West Coast-style playbook with some Coryell principles thrown in and another receiving option or two would have some huge potential.

I'm with you. Norv Turner would be an amazing hire. McAdoo would be good too.

Was about to post this. Nice, very nice. I feel like that was fast for our guys.

Has he ever had experience at OC?

no, but it's a big development the fact they are looking to the outside first

Ravens have requested permission to interview Ben McAdoo, according to a league source.

Apparently the Dolphins have already spoken with him too, so you'd think we get a shot. This is where the Ravens' willingness to promote guys internally gives us a leg up imo. If you're an up-and-coming coach, would you want to head to a stable franchise with a good chance at climbing further, or to the Dolphins with everything they went through this past season?

Nah, but he's worked as an OL coach, TE coach, QB coach, and offensive assistant.

McAdoo was previously the tight ends coach for the Packers before becoming OC, and I definitely think that's an area that should have some young talent added to it.

As far as experience goes, I think it's 50/50 - sometimes it helps, sometimes it's not needed.  Caldwell had no experience and called a great 2012-2013 postseason.  Pags had no DC experience and had a great run in 2011 as our DC.

Wonder what system he would bring, prob wco being at the packers for about 10 years.

We need to get someone quick, to get the playbooks drawn up, and get them handed out to the offence. Would also like our offensive co ord involved heavily in the draft process

Just what I was thinking

hes the next logical option, then move from him to someone in New England that's worked closely with Brady

Ken Whisenhunt

Joe Lombardi

Rob Chudzinski

No to Kubiak and Turner--too similar to Cam and we need to move away from that.

Though between those 2, I prefer Turner.

Not sure about Kyle Shanahan, seems like a bit of a wild card. but I'd like to see some innovation and I believe he would bring that. But I think Harbs prefers older, more established coaches (guys who are "lifers").

If Hue Jackson wasn't such a d-bag (reportedly) then I think he'd make a fine choice.

Absolutely. I'm all for being deliberate and hiring the right guy, but we can't afford to dither around too much either. We have the longest offseason we've had in a while and we don't want to spend all the extra time looking for a new OC.

For the love of good please be Scott frost. I would be cool with munchak as well if he brought Bruce Matthews with him. A real o line coach...

Not seeing much buzz about him, any other teams talking to him? Think he's ready to make the next step? I see he does have some playcalling experience, albeit at Mercyhurst College.

I'd rather get a younger OC like Kyle Shanahan quite honestly. Every team he's been the OC on regardless of how bad the team was has been in the top 12. Even the Redskins this season were a top offense despite being 3-13...they just have no Defense. Under him their run game was top notch and had a good passing offense despite having no WR's and O-Line...like us.

I have to say you're beginning to sell me on Kubiak. I remember watching Texans games (even this year) and wondering how a defence would be able to stop them on those goalline plays. Between Foster, Tate, Graham, Daniels, Johnson and Hopkins they had so many ways to bang it in. Imagine what we'd be capable of with a good offensive draft AND a 6-6 QB for those sneaks.

What do you make of what I've seen to be his main criticism though? That he doesn't adjust very well and sticks with the same plan too often? I think we've had too many of those guys around.

I definitely want someone who can make in-game adjustments, you have to be able to do that in the NFL. A lot of what I've heard about his lack of in-game adjustment has come from the fans and i'm always hesitant to put much stock into what us emotional fans feel about something when things are going bad. But if true I don't like that.

However I feel with everything comes good and bad. If we can get a offense that designs our guys to work in as much space as that Texans offense did, i'd be willing to live with the in game adjustment hiccup. Btw, Whenever the Ravens played the Texans I don't recall having a feeling that we had a handle on their offense because they didn't adjust, so I'm not sure how much of an issue it is.

But just look at this highlight video and look at all the space and creativity of that offense off the playaction. I just think with what the Ravens have been trying to do in recent years, ZBS running game, deep passing game, open things up for your QB and now you can add a strong play action game which Flacco is really good at, he makes a lot of sense as our next OC. Plus he's an aggressive play caller even when his team has a 14-17 point lead and Flacco has been asking for that the past 2-3 years. His entire playbook is built around the ZBS and it looks like we're keeping that with Castillo so I don't see why this wouldn't be a perfect match.

I studied every potential Xs and Os play and issue possible. I spent my whole life working on that. My goal was that any question a player could have about anything on the field, I'd be able to answer it. - Kyle Shanahan

via Wikipedia.

Call me crazy but he's my favorite as of now.
