AdamSchefter: #Ravens plan to hire Gary Kubiak as their offensive coordinator and former Texans OC Rick Dennison as their QB coach.

So when it was announced that Castillo would be the offensive line coach, Harbaugh wasn't kidding. Now I think he definitely stays in that position.

That would be a little strange since Dennison has never worked with QBs before. But, as long as Hos isn't the guy, I'm pumped!!!!

Kyle was WR coach for Kubiak so he could replace Jm Hostler there!

How much sense does this make? He was an offensive line coach and most known for his work with the ZBS. Why are we letting Kyle Shanahan slip away?

Ian Rapoport said it's doubtful Shanahan joins. Adam Schefter said Dennison is QB coach.

That's a shame - If this is true, I would have hoped that Shanahan would prefer to come here and take the OC slot after the virtual inevitable happens ... Kubiak gets promoted to HC after this season. One year wait for the same slot with a solid organization is likely better than an immediate job with the most diseased team in the league.

Unless Hostler has another option, I think he stays. I don't think they'll fire him. He's got a family. I can't see him just deciding to quit or something unless he has another opportunity elsewhere. I don't see him being fired though. I suppose we'll all find out together in a few minutes!

Dennison as the QB coach makes no sense, he's an OL coach.  We need a QB guru like Caldwell was for Joe, not just another body.

Unless you're advocating he gets the OC job over Kubiak, I don't know if you can say we're letting him slip away. It just comes down to whether he wants that OC slot now with the Browns or later with us.

I think the Ravens are committed to having Gary build his staff, so if he wants Kyle, he'll get Kyle

Fantastic hire and I'm glad the FO saw that we needed a new mind here on offense after the horrible offensive showing last season.

 

The most excited I've been about our offense in a while.

I'm advocating for Kyle at quarterback coach and Dennison at running back coach. Have the Browns interviewed him?

Jason La Canfora is reporting Kyle could still join the Ravens

Aaron Wilson just said he won't. I enjoy soap operas for a reason, and this is turning into one. ;)

And he also said Wade Harman is gone. I won't be able to see him occasionally on his bicyle anymore riding around Reisterstown.

I wouldn't be too concerned. Everything I've heard about Kubiak is that he's very involved with the QBs.

Best hire we couldve had. at first i didnt like the idea of kyle shanahan but the more i thought about it. the more Houston style Offense fits us, then the skins Did. now we are getting the trio hopefully( kubiack,Dennison and shanahan). Maybe not next season. but the season after we might be a lethal offense for once

Folks...  Is it possible to take the OC conversation over to the other thread...  "Ravens hire Gary Kubiak as OC"...  We are getting redundant here.
