Sounds like Kubiak is pretty much official, Dennison is likely and Shanahan is still up in the air... All three would be sweet (especially if Kubiak gets a HC position next year)

I saw Schefter's tweets earlier but nothing is definite. PFT is reporting that Kubiak is assembling the offensive staff and Dennison has experience as an O Line coach so there is hope that might change but that would be like having your birthday and Christmas on the same day.

This does not bode well. Personally I've been screaming for some exotic and ballsy playcalling. Different version of Cam coming up. Conservative playcalling all day long. Absolutely hate this move.

No offense, but nobody knows right now how this move will turn out. So until the games start happening, why be so negative about it? The ink's barely dry on his contract. Let's see how it develops before we start running him under the bus already.

If conservative means moving the chains slowly but surely, keeping a good TOP number, incorporating an H-Back for Juice, and using Rice in a better way (similar to Foster)... then sign me up for a conservative attack.

Agreed, but this also works the other way too. People who are getting uber excited about this move should temper expectations until we see how the offense works out in real time action.

That's how it would appear. Breathing a sigh of relief that we didn't just promote Hostler and then have to go hunt for a RB and WR coach.

With this info, I'm just going to check back at 3 for the official announcement, which should include all of the moves made, not just the HC.

so much for the Harbuddy theory

OR.... maybe, just maybe... the higher ups stepped in and told Harbaugh he could not hire Hostler in as OC... *cue suspense music*

So, does anyone thing Shanahan doesn't come on board? I know we have zero idea what the coaches discussed with him and whether they presented that he'd be the candidate to be the quarterback coach or not, but he could be upset about being one of two finalists only to be spurned last minute

Exactly. This will either be the best move in a few years, or it will be one of the worst. No one knows at this point, but it's nice to see an outside candidate get the job.

I don't get why people think Castillo is going anywhere. He was like the only guy Harbs confirmed was coming back and what role he would have...

Since apparently the decisions to hire the offensive cadre has changed since the decision to keep Castillo was made. The Browns didn't want to hire Kubiak because he wanted that authority according to Ian Rappaport and apparently he took this job because he was given that authority or else it would have ended the way the Cleveland interviews ended for him. That's just my opinion and. I can always hope.

I've been thinking the same thing. I really want him on the staff, but who could blame him if he said no? Our luck he'd end up with the Browns.

I just hope that Shanahan comes along with them... I have a feeling he could be an excellent coach for a team now that he's not working with his Dad anymore.

See who wants to hang Kubiak when ( if ) we loose a game.

Or praise him if they go deep into the playoffs.

Ian Rapoport said it's doubtful Shanahan joins. Adam Schefter said Dennison is QB coach.

Perhaps he's not, we don't really know for sure. The assumption is that since Kubiak is apparently being aloud to choose some guys he brings with him, and Dennison's experience is as an OL coach, it would seem logical to assume that Dennison would get that role.

Doesn't mean that Castillo is necessarily leaving, but possibly his role will be different.

That's true. Maybe I shouldn't be so grim about it. But after watching Houston year after year. Never going for it on fourth down, always a draw on 3rd and 15. Rarely mixing it up and so on, I really can't get excited about Kubes. But hey, maybe he mixes it up with a new personnel. His offenses have been very productive in certain categories also, so yeah, we'll see.

Ah, ok. Slowly but surely.

I've been waiting to hear about this. I haven't heard anything about Shannahan actually being on board with this.

Sounds like Kyle wont be on board. Hmm, seems a bit odd but maybe KS wanted the OC job and would rather not be a part of it if he wasn't the head guy. Pure speculation on my part though. :P
