Okay, it's time to announce a press conference. We were promised an OC today so let's get on with it. Time to release that puff of white smoke at the castle so we fans know who we can beat up on next year, I mean, loyally support.

I am happy that Gary Kubiak's name has finally came out of hibernation. I have nothing against all the other candidates, I hope they all find work at some point. I think Gary Kubiak, with the kind of offense we run, is the best guy for the for the job. With Gary Kubiak, running the offense, I think Joe Flacco will be even greater at certain things, like the play action pass game. Yes Ray Rice had a down season, but I think he bounces back with a big chip on his shoulder after the way he played this season. That's what I think is going to open up that play action and take a lot pressure off of our QB. I cant wait to see who gets the job and watch how it all turns out.

i guess. i still say it wont matter until something happens with the actual roster. Even Gary Kasparov cant win a game of chess with two rows of pawns.

Well sure, but that would be the case no matter who they hire...

Who cares if this was Harbs decision or not, that Harbuddy stuff is just crazy. They are the BALTIMORE RAVENS not just Harbs' team. It's always been a collective effort with importance decisions. As long as the right decision is made, that's all that should matter and I think this is the right decision.

I'm more excited about what this means for Flacco, Torrey, Brown, Pitta and our other offensive talent being able thrive in this system. We had a opportunity to really take this offense to the next level with making the right decision and I think we have.

I'm interested in seeing how the coaching staff fills out. Honestly i'd probably only keep Wade and Jaun as TE and oline coaches, then the rest are up for grabs. Hoss had the backing of several players and i'd be interesting to see how players respond.

Just got the text so it's official. Now let's get to work.

With all these coaches running around whats John going to do? get donuts?

Be nice.  Every other team has these guys in coaching positions on their teams...  Why would we be any different?

I will be absolutely ecstatic if the rumor that Kubiak is our new OC is true especially if he is bringing on both Shanahan & Dennison with him!

I am sure Ozzie and Steve had to be involved in this decision with John for this to happen! I just think these guys will collectively be able to get the most out of our run game and hopefully make Joe a really decent QB by eliminating his mistakes and teaching him the fundamentals of reading defenses, etc.

Thrilled if it happens! Kudos to Harbaugh for opening up and willing to take some chances! Salute to Bisciotti for willing to pay for this star studded offensive staff!

There will be offensive coaching changes where they are needed, I am sure of that.  I just don't see this organization allowing another season like the one we had this year without or by not putting the right pieces in the right places....  Excitement is just around the corner.....  Again!.

The announcement is at 3pm. Do you think Harbaugh pulled off the "Dream Team" of offensive Coordinators??

I'm holding out hope that Shanahan is coming over as the QB coach...

Agreed. Think he'd be good for Joe in that role, not to mention he'd be right here to step in as OC when Kubiak inevitably gets offered a HC job next year.

Kubiak's ability as a playcaller is concerning for me as well. He's a slave to the playaction pass and I have seen the Ravens do the same thing over and over again (run, run, pass, punt) for far too long. It's a bit unfair to compare Kubiak to Cam, but it still doesn't change the fact, that the Texans weren't exactly known as a very dynamic offensive team.

To tell you the truth, I'm not to concerned about Kubiaks playcalling. Kubiaks system is similar to Shanahan's, Only difference is, Kubiak doesn't run the Pistol Formatiom as much. But Kubiak like to mix in the no huddle a few times a game, unlike Shanahan, who rarely run no huddle...

http://blog.chron.com/ultimatetexans/2012/09/sugar-huddle-can-be-deployed-to-disrupt-defense/

Kubiak system still attack defenses from deep to short, to start games like Shanahan. The thing with Kubiak is once he get a 2 score lead, instead of keeping his foot on the pedal for the entire game like Kyle does, Kubiak will switch it up and attack defense from short to deep, while running the ball more, trying to control the clock. He gets real conservative with his play calling (run, run, pass) at times.

But since we are going to run more short passes and actually play to our guys strengths now, we should start converting more 3rd downs. Kubiak still brings a good playbook with him and he also call plays to set up other plays, especially off of play action, and we all know Joe is arguably the best play action QB in the NFL, so hopefully that would off set his Cam Cameronish type playcalling at times, at least that's what I hope.

Presser at 3 for the new OC. lol such mystery ooooh.

I know... I'm wondering why they were so secretive.  When you do something like this, we expect BIG results this season.  Maybe he can convince Andre or Myers to come here too...

nobody said we were gonna hire all three dudes, fans are making that up.

but we do have an opening for a QB coach as well as OC, so we might take two of them. might be trying to figure out who gets which job.

that actually was on te reports posted by ravens sources on the site.

now that I think about it yeah we need a qb coach AND a rb coach, idk if dennison is either but yea now that I think about it If they could keep the staff intact that would be awesome
