Kubiak, another big advocate of zone blocking schemes. We better get used to it.

I think too much has been made of the zone blocking scheme and the scape goat moniker it shared with Juan Castillo. Better coaching and most importantly better players and we'll be fine.

here's your source!

Offensively, the Ravens should have a heavy Texans flavor in terms of scheme and assistants

Anticipating more change to offensive staff with Gary Kubiak's arrival. Lot of moving parts

i guess. i still say it wont matter until something happens with the actual roster. Even Gary Kasparov cant win a game of chess with two rows of pawns.

Obviously. We're seeking a new OC, not a magician. We have personnel issues and they need to be addressed.

But I am pretty sure that in our interviews, we are attempting to lure potential OCs with the notion that we are going to expend the majority of our available resources, both in FA and in the draft, on the offensive side of the ball and we want "you" (the prospective candidate) to guide us in the process of transforming this unit into a top 10 offense.

Are the reports of Bisciotti making coaching staff decisions true or is it the typical "Mike Preston"-crap?

The latter, but I do think Newsome has a stronger say in it.

I want their opinion on the draft too. We need weapons for Flacco. Big tall man child receivers

I'd be way more comfortable with guys like Benjamin and Evans in Kubes system then the one we had before.

Aaron Wilson states that Jim Hostler's position could be something to look out for because he could be gone after not getting the OC job.

I would be okay with it, as long as Harbaugh had the final say in this. He is the HC and he should be making coaching staff decisions. We're not the Cowboys.

Sounds like wishful thinking to me. Who would want him? Our WR aren't really developing all that well.

Given the state of the Wr corps, I can't imagine I'll miss him.

Good. Please happen. Hopefully he gets work somewhere else though.

Doesn't he run the west coast offense? Neither are precise route runners and that's a huge piece of the west coast offense. Hoping for Marquise Lee

Bringing in Dennison and Kubiak would be a tremendous boost for the embarrassment of an OL that we endured. I wonder what that would mean for Castillo.

If we pull off this trifecta, everyone of you Harbaugh BFF doghouse people can kick rocks

I'm curious about this too. If they do decide to bring in all 3, what happens to Castillo and Holster?

I'm excited about a brand new staff, more so than Kubiak becoming OC. I didn't expect to to wake up a see 2 brand new names in the candidate race. Plus Kyle which is just icing on the cake IMO.

come on now, some of them are really funny

The only problem Kubiak going to Baltimore is, as Texans fans will see is that he won’t take Schaub with him!

Here's my favorite quote from the comment section....

rickastleydancemoves says: "Me being a Texans fan, let me tell Raven fans what to expect: Run on first down, run on second down. If it’s third and short, play action bootleg to Torrey Smith. If its third and long, draw with Ray Rice."

Bottomline, I'll still prefer Shanahan as our OC, cause he's the better playcaller and he scheme to get his receivers open. But I'll take Kubiak, cause he's probably the best option left outside of Shanahan's. Plus we still will be getting a dynamic playbook with Kubiak and he's also knows how to play to his players strength as well. It's just his playcalling that's suspect. Plus his health could be an issues too. But still, Kubiak is an offensive mastermind and we need him or Kyle as our OC if we want a shot at a explosive offensive.

I wonder how Joe would perform in a west coast offense, after watching him stand behind the OL waiting for WRs to get open downfield for so long. If it's done well, we might actually see Joe throw to open receivers. Another thing I haven't seen yet.

Castillo goes bye-bye.

I think Castillo stays. He could work in Kubiak's system. I think Hostler might even stay, but if there was another job opportunity somewhere else, I think he'd leave for it.

Rick dennison as "run game coordinator"? If we are going to create that position to get Castillo in the door, we should use it for dennison too.

If we had kubiak, dennison, and shanahan my expectaions for next season would skyrocket ha

That would be a great situation

Kubiak's ability as a playcaller is concerning for me as well. He's a slave to the playaction pass and I have seen the Ravens do the same thing over and over again (run, run, pass, punt) for far too long. It's a bit unfair to compare Kubiak to Cam, but it still doesn't change the fact, that the Texans weren't exactly known as a very dynamic offensive team.

I keep coming back to this page for some official announcement!

It's like when I was a kid...after school I'd go straight to the fridge, nothing there. 20 minutes later, I'd go back, nothing there...repeat...as if some food was going to magically appear in the fridge.

I'm just impatient! Want to know where we're heading!

Gary Kubiak is our New OC!

Jeff Zrebiec jeffzrebiecsun 4m

Still some details to work out but everything is set for Gary Kubiak to become the next offensive coordinatior of the Ravens.

What remains to be seen is what will offensive staff look like around him. Where does Rick Dennison fit in? Do Hostler, Juan Castillo stay?

I like how he said that something changed over the weekend. I don't think it was Bisciotti. I think it was Newsome, maybe DeCosta, putting a little more stress on the issue. I have no way of knowing that, by the way. I just think it was the GM/Asst. GM perhaps creating a 'this is what we're going to do, hope you agree' sort of thing.

Or, Kubiak might have been the person all along. Who knows.
