Norv is the master of Cameron, and if Cam's system can get us a 2013 SB, improved Norv's system can flourish our offense...

Plus Norv worked wonders with Antonio Gates and Jordan Cameron, which would work perfectly for us, since Dennis Pitta is a focal point of the offense. Not to mention he led the Browns to the 11th ranked passing attack in the NFL, with Brian Hoyer, Jason Campbell and Brandon Weeden at QB...he would be a great addition.

Hmm we aren't thinking the same way. Not that that is a bad thing. I was leaning more toward Shanahan.

I think Shanahan is a good option too. I'd lean towards him over Kubiak.

If we hire Kubiak or Norv we would be getting a back-to-back Super Bowl winning offensive coordinator.

If we hire Chud we would be getting a coordinator who made Derek Anderson a Pro Bowl player. He did the same thing with Cam Newton in his first year. Cam also broke the record for most passing yards in a season by a rookie which is pretty impressive considering he only had Steve Smith to throw to.

Going to be really hard for Harbaugh to screw this up.

It's not going to be Chudzinski.  The negative comments from his former players, like DeAngelo, will make sure of that.

I still want Shanahan, but I have a feeling right now that it'll wind up being Kubiak.

anyone know what happened to Chud's offense in Carolina during his 2nd year? just curious. Heard it went downhill after Cam's rookie season.

We are interviewing hostler

Hopefully it's just an interview.  But then again, we did hire Cam Cameron after a 1-15 season with the Dolphins.  We have a tendency to promote ineptitude.

Less concerned by the prospect of Hostler than I was before. I think if we were gonna promote from within, we would've already announced it (Pagano and Pees were both promoted within a day).

It's just a courtesy.

It would be pretty uncouth not to interview him.  The fact that he hasn't't been promoted should say a lot.

Lol true.

Jamison Hensley did make a good point. In the past when we promoted from within, we did it almost immediately after we lost whoever left and there were no reports of us branching out. Not like now. It could mean that they're not completely sold on Hostler and they believe like most of us here believe that we need a new offensive mind here (at least I hope that's what it is).

Exactly. He's right there. Are you gonna flat out refuse to interview him? Would be rude to the max.

Better be strictly so we can truly figure out just how much he doesn't know about offense.

This. And I don't think we'd ask to interview Ben McAdoo AFTER he agreed terms with the Giants if we were going to discard him for an internal guy anyway. That's way too much effort to simply not be interested.

Haven't seen Brad Childress's name thrown about before today. What does everyone think of him?

Why would norv come out of browns and risk his OC job here?

You flaccopologists demand every OC to get fired every year for what flacco does every season

Stop trying to turn every thread into a Flacco bashfest troll. This is for legitimate OC discussion.

The fact that they've already interviewed Shanahan shows how quiet they're keeping news on this thing.

It also shows that they were prepared to move on from Caldwell some time ago.

I wonder how it went. Good to see the FO's 1) shopping around for OCs; 2) not sitting on its hands to do so. Hopefully we snap someone up within a week.
