Jim Caldwell takes Detriot Lions head coaching job

So if Caldwell takes Austin with him....does that mean Ed Reed as DB coach?

I wish. But unfortunately it looks like he plans to play until he's 58 lol

When he was interviewed he also had a sitdown with Stafford. I believe Stafford endorsed him. Also Caldwell was 2nd choice cuz Whisenhunt went to the Titans.

Sucks that we lost Austin. He was a very good coach

That might not happen if he's under contract. An assistant under can only leave for a head coach job unless the team grants permission.

Where's Childress at these days? Harbs does love his Philly guys, that could be an option if they're going outside the organization.

I think I read somewhere on here that he's in KC.

My top 5 choices...

Philip Montgomery - Baylor Offensive Coordinator
Scott Milanovich - Toronto Argonaunts Head Coach
Bill Lazor - Philadelphia Eagles QB Coach
Mike Bloomgren - Stanford Cardinal "Andrew Luck Director Of Offense" (ugh... I'll call him OC)
Dan Roushar - New Orleans Saints Running Backs Coach

Wow!  Milanovich was a Terps QB way back when...interesting.  Not to mention CFL Coach of the Year in 2012.  Very cool name drop.

Oh man I want someone to hack the website and make a article saying Castillo gets the job, that would be an interesting comment section

We don't want to go down that slippery slope and start screwing guys out of better jobs. Bad look and could make prospective coaches look the other way. If Caldwell's got a DC position for him, he should go. Better oppourtunity, more pay, launchpad for a HC spot.

Get ready for OC Juan Castillo.

Sorry T3Raven...out of shaking fingers I did not mean to neg. you. If this happens then Harbs had this planned out from the get of bring Castillo in. Which in turn tells me there was butting of heads going on between Caldwell and Castillo. what a sad day for the Ravens if this turns out true, Harbs will do anything for his Friends and that tells me this FO runs with their blinders on.

I wish Jim all of the best going forward, thanks for your part in helping this franchise we love win its second championship.

Now that said, hopefully we are now finally rid of the remnants of Cameron's offense, its the only way this team will get better on that side of the ball.

Cam Cameron anyone?

:P

Joe liked Cam Cameron.  Without Cam, we wouldn't even have Joe Flacco.  He was the one that took the guys out to Delaware to watch him.  The facts are the facts.  Cam was a casualty.  I think that Caldwell would have been a casualty too.  I believe our problems ran deeper than the O.C.   Whenever you make changes to anything there is an adjustment period.  And we are going to see how that works out for us again this coming season.  Hopefully we get the right people, and get them in the right places.

I'm with others...  Considering the changes, the losses in personnel, and the injuries, we were kinda doomed from the start this season...

Onward and upward!!!  Come on 2014!!!!

Ahhhhh.. Let's not put any bad information out there to start stuff...  That would not be a good idea at all.

It would be with a lot of altered comments. The cow manure chant comes to mind being...played on a loop.

Thank you for everything, Jim!  You propelled us last year to our Super Bowl run and we will forever be thankful.  Best of luck!

I dont think it will much matter who the next OC is, he will inherit a bad line, no running backs , one wide out , and a over rated QB, I doubt anyone with a good resume will take the job with Harb's reputation for sticking his nose in an area he knows very little about , not to mention no ones jumps on board a sinking ship either. We got one more bad year then we get a real head coach who hopefully restores us to where we belong.

I agree. Hopefully the next head coach we get has a winning record, numerous playoff appearances, and a Lombardi trophy.

With Harbaugh's reputation of loyality to his assistants and the Ravens' reputation as a classy organization, I suspect this will be an attractive job. My concern is that we have never had a really good offense (at least since the Vinny days), so why expect another change to fix that?
