Game of Thrones season 4

Yeah he has done a lot with Jamie, a very complex character. I generally trust a lot of the decisions they have made in selecting the actors. Also an interesting point with Clarke. The guy who plays Ramsey is really fun to watch as well even though Ramsey is evil to the bone.

It's kinda like the kid who played Joffrey, you love to hate him.  It's unfortunate that kid is retiring from acting because one could not have portrayed that character any better.

I agree, he did a fantastic job as Joffrey. I would love to see him in other programs as well but oh well.

Kind of unrelated but I'm also happy to see that Gwendoline Christie, who plays Brienne, was recently cast in Ep. 7; she's a good casting.

Why is he retiring? I would assume people would be lining up to cast him as a bad guy.

Iirc he got sick of the lifestyle and wanted to move on to something less intense, but don't quote me. To be honest I think he was in for one BIG dose of the Seinfeld Curse - where an actor does so well and becomes so well-known at a particular role they can't shake it.

The name I've been throwing around (and will keep doing so, he's my boy at this point) is Aiden Gillen (Petyr Baelish). He plays the smooth operator that no-one really dislikes really well imo. I think he took the book portrayal of the character and made it more realistic.

Perhaps he doesn't want to be typecast.  Wikipedia claims its a temporary retirement.

That could be it. Playing two different roles and doing them well is extremely tough for an actor to do - that's why Bryan Cranstoun's such a legend imo. He took two completely opposite roles and was superb in both. I can't think of anyone else who's done that (though I'm not really a TV buff).

Tommy Carcetti is the man!

Any truth to the deal about Emilia Clarke stopping the nudity? I heard that and found it odd.

I wouldn't be surprised.  Since season 1 I believe we've only seen her assets one time.

yea was quite a big deal here. She didn't want to be known for her tatas. She's got them out alot before game of thrones and that was what was being associated with her.

I was just wondering if it was hub bub or true about the mother of dragons.  Meh. There is no dearth of boobies.

They can't / won't kill Peter dinklage off. Well, I suppose if he dies in the books they have to kill him, but I think that would have a negative effect on the tv series. I was actually shocked they gave sean bean a role that kills him so quickly.

I agree.  It's a mistake to kill off the most engaging / entertaining character in a show.

They don't have to follow the books, right?   LOL

Call it a draw, pretty sure the Mountain is dead too.....

Anyone else see the "behind the scenes" interview about him?  They (producer/director/etc) were talking about what a great kid he is, and how everyone absolutely loves this guy.  This was after the episode he was poisoned, they were discussing how much they're gonna miss him.  Absolutely, I don't know if I ever hated a character more than Joffrey.  This kid must be a fantastic actor to be that great of a person, and act like such a monster.

Watching the NBA Finals first, but my plan for the evening's more or less sorted. Watch ep 9 and sort my DaF board.
