Much earlier.  Although they do kinda give it away closer to the scene as well.

Was it still at the reception or earlier than even that?

It was at the reception.

If you want actual confirmation of who it was I'll tell you, I'm not sure if you'll find out for a while.

I am about 99% sure I know who it is

Tyrells

That is all I need to know for now

Col. Mustard. Final answer.

If you think it happened in the library with the candlestick, you're spot on.

Check again

WARNING: If you don't want some strong hints about the culprit, don't open the tag.

The whole scheme is actually rather complicated, but yes one of them did the deed.

I'd have thought we'd see it next week. They teased a pretty important scene in one of the trailers (if you know what to look for), and a key moving event leading up to said scene happened at the reception. Then again, I haven't seen next week's trailer so my speculation doesn't mean much.

At any rate, that episode was well worth the wait. That's the part I've been second-most excited about since reading the books. Not sure if it's my bias, but I'm finding Oberyn really likable early on, where I took a while to appreciate him in the books. Be interested to see what everyone else thinks. Personally I didn't mind Bronn training with Jaime. I thought it added a bit of character to the scenes.

And to compare something else between the show and books (might pay not to click if you haven't read ahead):

I like how the show's making the rift between Tyrion and Shae significantly more complicated. Looks like they're setting up an epic death scene with her.

Yeah, you need to rethink that one.  The one thing they've tried to push as Cersei's redeeming quality is that she loves her children.

I'm going to be really disappointed if no one figures it out with all the foreshadowing.

That and her cheekbones.

Totally missed the Iron Bank of Braavos reference the first time through. That just might be the ticket for Stannis

Yeah it looks like they made some serious changes with Bran getting captured but it is probably setting something up with something

something involving coldhands. I really thought we were going to see him tonight

Also we finally figured out a certain mystery although I can't say I am surprised. The Tyrells certainly were suspicious and Little Finger knew quite a bit of what was going on.

Interesting episode, we know littlefinger is worse than previously thought. It does also look like even though those changes were there, we should be able to get back to following the books.

still waiting on a certain person however. Maybe next episode
