49ers are so easy to HATE

111 posts in this topic

The thing with hating an NFC team (for an AFC fanbase, anyway) is that you often do it away from how it affects you. We all hate the Bengals, but if you take them out of the AFC North they're not so bad. We hate them because we get sick of hearing about them, but that's also to do with how related the two teams are. I also think we hate Brady and Manning a lot more because they're AFC QBs and we usually have to get through them. I really like Drew Brees, but I suspect we'd hate him just as much if I were an NFC fan.

It's not a bad reason to hate a team at all, but I'm trying to demonstrate how often a team we hate is to do with our own interests.

The 49ers, on the other hand, I hate because they give me a reason to hate them. I didn't mind them last year - in fact I wished them well after the Super Bowl and kinda hoped they got a deserved ring in the near future. But then seeing their whining continue on and on and on - Kaepernick having a sook to the press after the SB, Harbaugh doing his thing and everyone putting an asterisk by our Lombardi (something I note many SF fans still seem intent to do) - really soured my taste.

We don't have any reason to love or hate the 9ers aside from the reasons they give us, and I think this thread's very existence is pretty telling.

I'm hard on the Seahawks bandwagon atm. I think their 'roids situation should be innocent until proven guilty (just as we'd want it), I've seen some of their fans act just as obnoxiously and I don't like how Cheat Carroll skipped on USC before the heat arrived (although Cheat Carroll has a nice ring to it). But I love their defensive unit, and I really like watching their offence click, and as much credit as Wilson gets he doesn't seem nearly as bad as Kap. I understand the Sherman hate and won't disagree, but I kinda like him because he actually backs it up.

I agree that a 9ers-Patriots SB would be unbearable (go 9ers to wreck the Steelers exclusivity I guess? Although one fanbase with six rings is bad enough), and I'd even be tempted to skip a Broncos-9ers SB. I guess if that happened I should just reluctantly enjoy what could be Manning's last ride.

Kaepernick is the biggest tool in the league. It's easy to hate him, he invites it and gets flustered by it - spends hours on twitter, other social media, and sports channels crying about it. Trademarking Kaepernicking, which he didn't invite. His whole GQ shoot and how is ego is so big but head so small... He just looks and acts like a clown

Team is pretty loaded with divas and fools, too. Michael Crabtree is in one of two actions, crying or galivanting. Anquan last night did a lot of crying and was doing cheap stuff to guys, I didn't see that here. Anthony Davis punks out. Donte Whitner crying about making his last name 'Hitner' - real cool. Chris Culliver LOL. Aldon Smith - enough said, I'm still laughing at that guy.

Done ranting but, frankly, I dislike all of them remaining teams. Definitely don't want the roided up Seahawks to win, Peyton will get so much media love, same for Brady.

I agree fully, and what upsets me a bit is that they have the potential to be one of the most liked franchises in the league.

Took me forever to find this article again, and while B/R's usually a collection of overhyped opinions, I think this kinda hits the nail on the head. Their FO does so much work in the community, between trying to make things better for people in the area and that "It gets better" ad they released as an organisation last year.

All that potential to be a deserved darling franchise of the league. And they throw it away on a feminine hygiene product they hired to coach them, and their divas and classless acts that they've become now that they're relevant again. It shouldn't be a surprise that Boldin's become more of a cheap shot merchant too, with the culture he got sent to.

I've shared this before, but this is the perfect spot for it:

I was lucky enough to attend the Super Bowl last February.  While leaving the game I encountered a 49ers fan who told me that the Ravens still only have two Super Bowl wins while the 49ers have five.  Knowing how stupid this comment was, I just kept walking and as soon as I was out of earshot, I just burst into laughter.

It isn't just the players that make them easy to hate, it is the fans.

You don't have to worry about the niners they aren't getting by seattle they'll probably get stomped again, while we are talking about the playoffs is chris harris from the broncos meant to be a good corner because he isn't playing this week.

Jim Harbaugh has no class.  Going for the fake punt is just silly and immature.  I remember when the 49ers were playing the Cardinals and Jim Haurbaugh was yelling at the refs when they were winning with 20 seconds left.

Meh. I complain about 9ers fans, but reality is that most of em ain't too bad.....

I just hate Kaepernick. They(bandwagoners... Which is basically 93% of em)  talk about him like he's a freaking deity.

And he's a jerk....

Personally, I'm not saying I like 49ers fans as a whole (though I do know some and they're nice people), but to be fair, every fanbase has people like that. If you were talking to a 49ers fan after their Super Bowl loss, you were probably talking to them at their most heated moment. That's not really an accurate depiction of who they are as a whole.

That said, I hate most fanbases equally.

I respect Jim as a strategist, but his antics are ridiculous.  And I don't like Kaepernick.  The 49ers aren't one of my most hated fan bases though, how could you hate this?

I get Kaep, but they got a beastly front seven on d plus frank gore, q, and davis, who played at maryland. I don't hate em, just Kaep.

I understand that, but the fact that he approached me and said that with me doing nothing is what really irked me.

I have always liked Q, but was disappointed in the way he handled himself yesterday.  He was always emotional, but he seems to have taken on more of a punk attitude since arriving in SF.  He should have received a 15 yard penalty for that head butt.

The team and by extension, the players take on the personality of the coach. Jim is an emotional whiner so most of his team is too. Boldin was always a emotional aggressive player but now he has channeled that via Jim. The Panthers game is the result. John would never allow that sort of thing.

And I also hate Kapernik. He is such an egotistical arrogant boob.

Then again, they were still showing up here in September spamming us with complaints about how we "cheated" them out of a SB victory. You have no idea how much vile crap we mods had to clean up.

This whole thing was choreographed by Harbaugh, who knew he'd be in a ballgame on Sunday. Q, like Hines Ward, was to be in the starring role. And Jim knew, just like Cowher/Tomlin knew, that refs would follow the script right along with 'em.

Why not???  The media has a Lovefest for these guys....the Brady/Manning Duo especially.  They are romantically involved in these games along with the referees.  They make for the best ratings around the league, and this is how they want it...  and they help to make it too.  And that Jim is John's brother has nothing to do with anything.  I have 3 brothers...  love them all for different reasons, but one is a complete jerk...  all the time... just because he's my brother doesn't make him not a jerk.

Brady/Manning are kind of the reason I hate Kaepernick. Well, part of the reason. The reason I don't have as much of a problem with either (especially Brady) as a lot of people on here is because I feel like they've earned the right to be talked about so loftily. Does it get annoying to hear about it constantly? Of course. But honestly, those two are both top 5 QBs to ever live, they deserve to have the media salivate over them a little bit. That's what all-time records and Super Bowl championships get you. Kaepernick has neither. He's done nothing. He took his team to two championships, but so did Mark Sanchez. He's not the reason those 49er teams are so good - and they are. When a player has done something to warrant a lovefest with the media, fine, that's the media's job. But a 20something guy who looks like he got kicked out of a Drake concert wearing a Dolphin's hat? Yeah, no.

And you don't believe in the striped 12th man...  Those guys are great QB's, true, but that doesn't give them priviledge to have rules created in their name nor does it give them priviledge to get calls in their favor that other QB's don't...  including other Super Bowl winning QB's.  MANY times this year Joe was hit late, was taken down with "hits to the helmet" and no flag... It's insane to watch certain QB's get the snot kicked out of them, when it appears that certain QB's can simply with the wave of a hand or a plea to the ref get laundry thrown all over the field....  it's so obvious that it has created some of the reason for the hate.

Kaepernick is an entirely different discussion...  That guy has been made the second coming too. you'd have thought that he was the SB winning QB last season... and he's not... the adoration is putrid...starting with his own coach...

Honestly, in the entire team, it's Chris Culliver that pisses me off the most. I cheered every single time he got burnt and beat during the Super Bowl, and would love to see the same in Seattle.

The behavior of the entire 49er team was horrible this past weekend including Boldin's. The officiating was suspect as well

I hope the seahawks smash them. I get tired of hearing about Manning and brady they are the greatest of all time but enough is enough. Isn't it time for both to retire.

I hope it is his last year.as for Brady he can retire too of the two he is the better quarterback I believe championships/superbowls denote greatness. Brady's own teammates don't like him.

I can almost guarantee if our Harbaugh was in the middle of the field during a play he would have been ejected and fined

hmm I don't think they dislike brady, even ray lewis doesn't really dislike him and they both were at it on the field for over a decade. If you are talking about yelling at the refs for calls, I like that a lot I wish more players would do that when refs make awful and inconsistent calls.

I meant the "leaving him hanging " for high fives

Historically I have never liked the 9ers much but I actually quite like this 49ers team. I like the way they play the game. They run the ball and they play good Defense, those are qualities that Ravens fans everywhere should be able to relate to.

Out of the 4 remaining teams I will be supporting the 49ers from here on. I can't stand the whole Brady/Manning love in and I'm pretty indifferent towards the Seahawks. I also know that John Harbaugh would dearly love to see his brother win a Superbowl ring after denying him one last season.

So I will say two words that I never thought I would say.............go 9ers!

Agree with a lot of this. Kaepernick is still a tool, though. And he has a small head.

And his eyes are too close together.

I can't complain about that though, he gave us some great gifs this year doing that. Brady is still my favorite non-Raven.

I thought you would have said brandon spikes, I really don't want him to go in the offseason (he's probably going) he hits like a truck and is the only linebacker I would have confidence in stopping lynch and peterson one on one
