UPDATED: MESSAGE BOARDS CLOSING AFTER DRAFT   03/08/2017

After careful consideration, we have decided that we will sunset our message boards after this year's NFL Draft. Since we opened our boards a decade ago, the digital landscape has greatly evolved. While we understand there remains a smaller group of highly-engaged fans who participate in conversation in our forums, a significant amount of the dialogue about our team and our games has migrated away to other social media platforms over the past several years. Our message boards will remain up and running through Friday, May 5th, and will be removed on May 6th. We recognize that this change may upset avid members of our community. However, we look to utilize our time and resources to focus on how we can best connect with our fans across an array of digital/social outlets. If you are not already engaging us and other members of the Ravens Flock on our Facebook page, Instagram account, through Twitter or Snapchat, we invite you to follow us on those channels and continue to participate in our social communities. In addition, the commenting feature on our website articles will remain intact. Members will be able to continue using their boards account to log in and share their thoughts at the bottom of every news story. We’d like to thank all the Flock members and our moderators who have brought thoughtful conversation to this space and made our community great for the last 10 years. Ravens Social Media Hub »

How to handle Terrell Suggs' Contract

16 posts in this topic

First of all, Terrell Suggs should be off limits. He's our franchise player on defense. instead of cutting him (which we will regret) here is how to approach things.

First, Suggs will want to stay with Baltimore and he might even beg.

Then, once we get him in that situation the Ravens can force Suggs to Fire his Agent.

So now Suggs is in more control without his agent influencing him to get more money.

They can easily get him signed to a restructured deal with a lower salary for more years.

Once his agent is out of the mix Suggs gets to make his own decision to sign with the Ravens on a reduced salary to keep his supporting cast.

Firing his agent?  Whatttt?  I also like that he's going to beg.

I think I have a new favorite poster.

when you play football like Suggs does he doesn't have to  beg , people beg him.If he wants to stay they work out an extension if not we all know what comes next.

Suggs should be signed and about begging I don't think so he has been a dominant player forever and at the end of the year was double teamed and chipped. So if one of the other dissapointments and the coach with no marbles would blitz then they would not do that. But still had ten sacks and a strong year. Need him on outside he may settle for smaller contract because he loves baltimore. Grow up anyone who knows football knows Suggs is a plus. We just need new defensive coordinator who knows defense and is not scsred.

Fire his agent? That's out of the blue. And why would he beg? Someone would probably pay him more than we would on his (potential) reduced salary.

That's how it's going to go down.

I feel like what the OP suggested has a rather large hint of blackmail to it, in regards to the Suggs' agent suggestion.

I forwarded your suggestion to Sizzle; seems you have become popular, he and his agent want to meet you.
