Just cause his mommy wants him back doesn't mean he deserves to be here......Too many penalties and he actually just stands around most of the time.....and does Nothing!!!

Nobody is hiring Caldwell, unless they can get Peyton with him. The guy has no proven track record w/o the real OC at Indy, Peyton Manning. We are stuck with him again next year, and will have the same predictable offense......Norv please come to Baltimore......

@ellicottraven

I agree. I am a Joe supporter, BUT: Joe does need some help. He needs a lot of accuracy drills, balance drills and defense reading drills. He also needs some leadership classes. I know, I know you can't teach leadership --- baloney!! Yes you can, anyone who is not a natural leader can be taught leadership.

Joe also needs 10 other players on the field that are being coached properly and being held accountable if not playing well.

The head coach needs to be help accountable, eems he's not... CovetedI said all year that if the oline improved 30% by the end of the year we would make the play offs. It didn't, we didn't.

Sounds like Flacco should work with George Whitfield in the off season. Whitfield worked with Andrew Luck, Cam Newton & Jamies Winston - http://www.forbes.com/sites/darrenheitner/2014/01/06/the-mechanic-behind-bcs-national-championship-quarterbacks-jameis-winston-and-nick-marshall/.Mostly he works on QB mechanics which would help accuracy. I don't know if Joe would go for that or consider it an insult to drop back to a coach who works mainly with college QB's, but going back to fundamentals always helps. That said, this season is the first time I've seen Joe be off target. Of course, it's hard to be accurate while flat on your back.

Oher had his worst year, but to be fair Yanda, Geno, McKinnie, all played poorly at times this year too. We know from the SuperBowl year that he's an adequate RT when playing next to a RG who is also playing well/healthy and when that RG not trying to bail out the Center on every play. I think for the ight price, I'd keep Oher.

As for Pitta, he's not getting WR money -- that's stupid. And he doesn't put up the kind of numbers the saint TE does anyhow. Truth of the matter is, if he tests FA he's still going to find that he's more valuable to the ravens than any other team because his chemistry with Flacco is more compelling than his 2013-14 stats, which, coming off an injury really aren't that compelling.

While I don't think Caldwell is the top of anyone's list as of today, I wouldn't be all that surprised if someone hires him. And they should. He has been a coach on two Different SB winning teams. Even if these teams won despite him instead of because of him, very few of the guys hired in the last week have this kind of pedigree. I'm seeing teams fawn over coaches whose claim to fame is that they led teams to mediocre seasons or 1 and out playoff runs. Why would that be better than a guy who at least manages to have lightening strike for him every couple of years.

All I know is Castillo, now that hes back now as O LINE Coach... He better KEEP his mouth Shut and only worry about the offensive line. He better not attempt to have influence on play calls like what is said to have happened this year, and Harbsbetter get his Crap straight because 8-8 again and I want both them turds gone

You can't bash the guy when he's sacked 48 times, and rushed for over 90....  He spent the bulk of his season running for his life... or yeah, flat on his back....  it's a shame.

And Harbs better stop thinking hes Vince Lombardi, owning the damn Locker room and the soul Leader and Voice of this Football team. Note to Harbs: You better pile up a a couple more Rings, before you think great and Legendary Football players who lead themselves will crumble at your feet. Your just another Coach, who can be replaced just like Billick. Lewis, Reed,Rice,Suggs,Pollard,Ogden,Boldin,Boulware,Ja.Lewis,Woodson etc these are Voices the leaders of this Franchise on and off the field. Lead by the players, kept in line by the players, and Won 2 Super bowls that way... Who the hell is John Harbaugh??? Some blow hard egomaniac

I love Pitta but if it will cost $11.5M to franchise him there is no way the Ravens can do that. He will be offered deals in the 24 hours of free agency. Ravens will be down to Furstenburg....and maybe Dickson. Sounds like the Ravens aren't expecting anything from Mellette, Sheppard or D. Thompson at WR. Ravens could be drafting in the top 10 in 2015.

Had it been my choice Furstenburg and Thompson would've gotten an opportunity to start this season. In the end, the panic signing of Stokley and Clark didn't help and just delayed evaluation and development of young talent. New England struggled early with their young receivers but did not give up like the Ravens did on ours. Also, the already limited cap space took more hit. The FO may be good at evaluating talent but money management should be improved.

We'll sign him, imho. No matter what. Yes, Boldin also was Joe's favorite target and we let him go, but this guy Pitta is not only our franchise qb's favorite target, but also best friend. He ain't going nowhere.

I keep seeing Furstenburg's name in the comments and who here needs reminding of the Harbaugh doghouse. Don't know why, don't know what he did, but just like Ellerbe, Kruger and Cary Williams, after showing great in preseason (sometimes for multiple years) they don't see the field till their final year on their rookie contract and then when they are successful we can't afford them. Harbaugh wastes them away when they are cheap and then when instructed by the front office to get over it, he let's them play so they will showcase their talent and go away to another team which is what he wanted all along. I have never been a Harbaugh fan and we will see what he is made of when he is not riding the coat tails of the talent that was there when he got there.

gronk 9mill. witten 7 mill... Pitta shouldn't even get 7m, he isn't a top 5 TE right now so he shouldn't get top 5 money. i like the guy and think he's a beast but i'm just being realistic. Everyone we over-pay for hasnt lived up to it. Rice... Ngata... Flacco....

You are not on the coaching staff or anywhere near being in the locker room or office or the practices, so your comment is comical. What has Kruger done this year? How well has Bee been? Neither were worth what they were asking for and other teams were willing to pay them, so Baltimore couldn't resign them. It is part of football. It takes TIME to develop into a good player, sadly Baltimore has had old talent on the team the past few years that needed the money.

I'd like to hear the league's detailed explanation for why Ihedigbo's hit was illegal.

I don't usually agree with Mike Preston, but he's absolutely correct about Joe needing a QB coach (like how every other QB needs one).

Caldwell's not going anywhere (unless he gets fired) and the Steelers should just take their medicine and stop crying about how "unfair" their punishment may be.

So Rice bulked up 10lb? well that was never going to mesh well with his high mileage and the worst run blocking unit in the league.

Fix the line.

Furstenburg had sports hernia surgery in December .Joe and Tyrod need a quaterbacks coach . We need a good back up quarterback  too without a coach how can Tyrod progress or Joe get better.  I think they sign Pitta I doubt they break the bank but they will pay him .We have to keep the same receivers chemistry doesn't happen over night

Which movie was Michael Oher's adoptive mom looking at? While she was watching the blind side, I was watching the missing side. This man played poorly and happen to rack up the most penalties I have ever seen a player do. I trying to find something positive he did and can't find a thing. Maybe, they gave his movie the right name. Because what I seen this year was the blind side of his skills.

Michael Oher did a lot of good for the ravens in his time here. He played a pretty solid RT in the playoffs last year. Remember that? When we won the SB on the dominance of our o-line?

Sorry, Mrs. Tuohy, but Michael Oher is not a very good tackle at the NFL level. He does have a good, team first attitude, for flopping back and forth from the right side to the left when the team needed him to. But by doing that he showed that he cannot be an even adequate LT, and he's probably a bit below average NFL caliber RT. He has WAY too many penalties and gets beat by his opponent far too often. Awesome, heart-touching life story, but this team needs to upgrade at his position. Wish him well, wherever he goes. Good man, not so good tackle.

Agree with the idea that the wr need can be a smaller, quick, good hands, possession type, slot receiver or a big bodied, fast, tough, good hands receiver. I like Sammy Watkins a lot and Marquise Lee. Mike Evans might be a little slow so I'm not so sure about him. Then there's that little guy with, I think 19 TDs this year What the heck was his name? Brooks, maybe, I can't spit it out right now. It's late, I'm tired, and I'm having a senior moment right now. I'm sure I'll think of his name in the morning. I'd be a little nervous, but he might even slide into round two. Wouldn't bet the farm on it though. We'll have a better picture on all these guys after the combine. I think this draft is deep in receivers. There's a few more, but I gotta sign off. I'm falling asleep.

He has improved greatly on his penalties. He had 6 this year. I think he's gone, and I hope we get an o-lineman early in the draft.

Oher would benefit from a change of scenery. Young man needs a fresh start some where else, it would be best for all concerned. Sorry also, Mrs. Tuhoy, but it has to be done.
