1) When we had better personal last year with Boldin and a hot Pitta in the playoffs I would say we used our receivers fine. To me that proves Caldwell's system was effective. The error was dealing Boldin and believing Torrey could be a true number 1 wr and take over games. He isn't because he doesn't consistently make plays and get open.

 

2) 1000 yard season is average bro. Brian Hartline caught over 1000 yards this season... Give yourself a pat on the back Torrey, really stellar stuff my man. I would have been impressed if he would have kept the pace he set over the first half of the season. After the first 5 games he had 2 games over 75 yards...

 

3) Yes Kaep, Newton and Andrew Luck were all FAR superior to Joe this season. They all had better stats and all made the playoffs. Sorry to say our boy blew big time this year, the truth hurts. When he is at his best I believe he is better than these guys, but he wasn't close to that at any point this year. I truely believe part of the reason Boldin had a better year this year with the 49ers though had to do with the fact that he was coming off a monster postseason and his reward for that was complete and utter disrespect by the team for whom he played a leading role in winning a Super Bowl for. That kind of motivation combined with playing for a better QB this past year led to a small increase in stats.

 I am not taking sides here in your discussion but want to comment on the last part of the final sentence where you typed. “….led to a small increase in stats.” Actually it’s a 20 percent increase in his first year with the 49ers VS the best year he ever had as a Raven. That makes it a substantial increase.

After watching the video, I think the media reports read more into what was said than was actually meant.  I just want to know what type of receiver they're talking about.  I'm assuming it's the big bodied and physical variety, but you never know.
