2014 NFL Free Agency Thread

Well speaking of the AFC West (I wasn't sure if this was the proper thread to put this in, but it'll do), I wonder what you guys think which "free agent" team (Chargers, Raiders, Rams) will move to LA. I guess this is the latest so far: http://www.yardbarker.com/all_sports/articles/nfl_relocation_to_los_angeles_looking_increasingly_likely/17900453

Chargers make the most sense, to me.

Is Oher really a candidate to be cut? There is more dead money to his deal in 2015 than there is for the amount he's owed. Are the Titans willing to take the cap hit?

$3.35 million of his base salary becomes guaranteed on the 3rd league day next year.  If they cut him before that, they will save money.

I would absolutely love to sign Rahim Moore in free agency if the Broncos let him go. I hope we're that lucky.

Please don't jinx us. We got our hopes up for Harris Jr.

Isn't Hartley a drunk or am I thinking of someone else?

Pat McAfee was arrested for public intoxication a few years ago. If you're thinking of a kicker, maybe Jeff Reed?

Ah you're right, McAfee. Did find this funny clip of Hartley though lol

That was amazing. When's the last time Peyton Manning or Tom Brady drunkenly wandered up to a reporter in banana yellow slacks after a Super Bowl parade? Never.

But yeah, back to the actual thread topic, what next for Cundiff? He's 34 and has been on half the teams in the league, so I say retirement. Possibly a camp leg.

Jaguars signed DT Roy Miller to a 4-year contract worth $16.25 million.  I believe they overpaid for a DT that is average at best

Brady restructuring again. Frees up $24 mil by removing "skill" clause from his contract, meaning he can be let go in the future for sub-par play without Pats owing anything apart from guaranteed $$. No impact on salary cap:

I'm thinking Kraft is providing some cash under the table for him.

The Steelers have signed RB Ben Tate.

his wife makes more money than he does.

$47 million before taxes this last year is what I saw somewhere

If money wasn't an issue, why get paid more than 10 million? I'm guessing Ego, which also wouldn't allow him to be paid less than the Flacco's or Daltons or Kaperniks or Cutlers

@AdamSchefter: 2014 has retired and 2015 has been signed to a one-year contract, per league sources.

Happy New Year to all.

The window is officially open for 2012 Draft Picks to get new deals per the new rules. It's going to be very interesting to see what kind of money the Colts and Seahawks give Luck and Wilson. You know looking back at the 2012 Draft first round, not many are going to receive contract extensions. That first round was terrible outside of a few players.
