I hope Kasim Edebali makes the Cut for the Saints! He played on our city rivals youth team here in Hamburg germany! Another German next to Bjoern Werner and Sebastian Vollmer would be great for American Football in Germany!

Cue the internet backlash.

I could be missing something, but I've actually seen far more talk of backlash than actual backlash.

"The first openly gay player cut..."

Who cares? Stop shoving Sam in our faces. He's a mediocre DE that was cut. Nothing about it is news worthy. ESPN, just STOP!!!!!

I was a bit surprised to see Brown cut.

What does Johnny Manziel think of this shocking move?

What does Johnny Manziel think of this shocking move?

From NFL Meme's FB Page:

-Michael Sam cut?

-Manziel benched?

-LeBron isn't playing right now?

..:SportsCenter doesn't know what to do with itself!

Well since the new SEC Network is owned by ESPN, they can always throw it over to Tim Tebow for continuing coverage of Tebow Mania.

"So Tim, how do you adjust from the football field to being a broadcaster?"

(Insert some religous stuff here, some stuff about being a broadcaster, says he works out so he hopes a team signs hims)...

That's it for Sports Center.

Any interest in Landon Cohen, a DT released by the Bills?

Although he's bounced around the league, he had a strong pre season.

Might be a decent rotational guy.

Ryan Mallet traded to the Texans. Not sure where to put that

2016 7th round pick that turns into a 6th if he plays 40% of the snaps for Houston.

As T3h said, they were probably going to cut him.  Jimmy G beat out Mallett for the backup spot.

Yeah, this forum really needs a comedy section.

If that's it, it means Belichick was going to cut him.

He played poorly in preseason and Garoppolo has more upside. Bill wants to prove, that he made Tom and not the other way around. Mallet's not going to do that for him.

We had ample opportunity to sign Clemons this offseason and chose Stewart over him.

Yeah we aren't, still no clue why we went through the trouble to restructure Webb, still nothing in terms of trades or signings

I think it was to provide some more comfort and have the option for trades, with nothing specific in mind really.  I think there are trade talks but not for anyone that would take up a significant portion of the cap.  With the rule of 51 gone and all of the PS/IR/PUP/etc. guys now on the cap, we're sitting at just over $3M in cap space, which is conveniently what we saved with Webb's restructure.

PFT confirms new deal for Alex Smith.  Four-year, $68M extension.  $30M guaranteed at signing.  Another $15M vests next March.

I can't believe he got that much.  Even crappy QBs are expensive.

I remember reading somewhere that the Browns are trying the "Seahawks model" of getting a cheap game manager at QB and spending the money on defence and the running game. Even if that person wasn't just looking for similarities that happened to be there, I wish any franchise good luck at trying that.

Like Wilson isn't getting paid next off season. You get lucky if you win one with your qb on a rookie deal. We did the same thing with Joe.

Exactly. And Joe's big contract looks pretty handy at the moment.
