Packers sign Julius Peppers to a 3 year deal. Wow, interesting.

Sounds like a great deal for Green Bay. On the other hand, Peppers is staying in the NFC North.

Max of $30 million for him.

In that case he may have gotten overpaid. Would you please provide a source for this? Thanks.

What kind of $$ are #Packers putting up? Agent Carl Carey says it's a three-year deal that can be worth $30M. Peppers gets $8.5M in Year 1

I think it is a slight overpay but I would rather have Peppers than Ware so it isn't as bad as that

As expected, Ben Tate has signed with the Browns.  It is a two-year deal with an unknown amount of money at the moment.

What's the over under on how many games Mr. Injury Prone actually plays?

Depends when does Ngata and Sizzle get to meet him.

The Panthers sign S Roman Harper to a 2-year deal worth $4.5 million.

That seems pretty reasonable. That defense is looking pretty scary, and we play them in 2014.

That offense is going to be awful though.

Peppers will make a great mentor for Datone Jones, good move.

I don't think that's how Peppers will be used.  Datone Jones is a guy who gets moved around a lot, or at least I believe that's the way GB uses him.  Peppers is an outside rusher, that's all he's ever been in his whole career.  Jones isn't really a similar player.

GB might benefit from going to a 1-gap scheme with the personnel they have now.  Matthews would probably do fine in the Von Miller type of role and still get you the sacks he was paid to get.

He'll still be a good mentor tho lol.

Peppers is a guy known for inconsistent effort and not living up to his potential.  I'm not sure that's the best guy for mentoring the youths.

I'm not necessarily saying that you're wrong, but would you please tell me how you came to this conclusion? This was just not something that I am aware of.

There have been various reports coming out about it over the years, and even Cosell mentioned it on the radio on a recent appearance if memory serves.  If it shows up on the tape, that's not a good thing.  Even looking at his stat sheet, this is a guy that has the physical talent to completely dominate people and there have been years where he hasn't produced.  It's one of those situations where he was such a natural talent he could skate by on it most of the time, it happens with NFL players.

He is arguably more talented than Clowney so he could do so much more but he skirts on the talent.

He is the Randy Moss of defensive ends.

Kenny Britt is (finally) going to visit the Pats.  If you want to prove you're still a top tier guy with tons of talent, Brady is the guy to help you do it.  I think he'd be better off going there and getting some new people around him instead of reuniting with Fisher in St. Louis.

Yeah that is a great comparison for him lol

As for Britt, I just know I would rather be catching passes from Tom Brady as opposed to Sam Bradford if I were in his shoes. Smart move by him if he goes there.

The question would become the mental aspect.  Some FA WRs haven't lived up to expectations into New England because they haven't gotten on the same page with Brady in that offense.  You'd think if Gronk can understand it then anyone could, but that hasn't been the case.  But at least in Chad Johnson's case, he was never known as a guy who did what he was supposed to on the field, which led to quite a few Palmer interceptions.  The Pats would give Britt the best chance to revive his career though IMO.

Yeah if he is going to turn it around with anyone, it would probably be the Pats

@AdamSchefter "Neither team nor player's agent will confirm, but Broncos are expected to sign former Steelers WR Emmauel Sanders, per league sources."

Well, he's a different type of player than Decker, but with Manning I'd expect there to not be much of a drop off in that offense's production.
