If we land Browner our secondary becomes equal to Seattles, if not better, but our front seven won't be as good so it won't show quite as much. That said, our run defense started to improve last year towards the end. Remember, we lost Kelly and Mayo and Spikes to injury to. Spikes is gone but Mayo is a pro bowler and Kelly was playing better than Wilfork.

Our defense might be reminiscent of our Dynasty years in 2014 if we stay healthy.

Gronk coming back as well.

Very exciting off season so far. Beats signing Tebow and hearing our star TE is a serial killer.

They still have you beat at S but yes that secondary would be good.

Then again, who can blame them? After all, no matter how cliched it is, the NFL is a copycat league. Whenever and wherever there's success, other teams try to be exactly the same (or, very similar, at least). But, at the same time (and like the Ravens, themselves), how was the majority of Seattle's Super Bowl roster built, including Chancellor and Earl Thomas?

* HINT! HINT! * THROUGH THE DRAFT!HINT! HINT! *

And because they drafted so well, they had a lot of really good really cheap players.  When you're that solid throughout, with good players at pretty much every position on defense, it's going to make everyone look better.  Not to knock Chancellor or Thomas, they're both great safeties and Chancellor should've been the Super Bowl MVP, but it's not quite as simple as having two great safeties.

If he wins in arbitration or whatever it's called, they're kinda screwed.  They still have him on the cheap TE tag right now.

Don't think NFL will ever side with player in situation like this.

It would set a bad precedent.  TE contracts will eventually make the tag the right number and Graham is worth more than he's being paid, but you don't want to set that precedent.

Cortland Finnegan goes to Dolphins on 2 yr deal.

Grimes/Finnegan could be a nice combo

Finnegan was awful last year, he'd have to really bounce back.

4-years, $14.25 Million

Seriously, did Ozzie even talk to him?  That's not expensive at all.

Not according to the tracker on NFL.com, nor was it reported by anyone who covers the Ravens. Only the Bucs, Giants and Packers were interested in him.

Can't deny that I'm disappointed.  We're chasing Grandpa Steve instead of getting guys that would be more help to us.

Little something to round up great week for Panthers fans:

#Panthers signed TE Mike McNeill to a 2-year deal. McNeill is a 3rd-yr player, caught 5 passes for 36 yards in 2 seasons with #Rams.

I think something weird might be going on down there.  Seems like they had an unusually high number of retirements, especially for a team that's close.

Charles Tillman is heading back to Chicago.  That's a big surprise, I was almost sure he was heading down to Tampa.

Ozzie is going to get Mack. I can smell it. He wants out of Cleveland. It's going to be the biggest coup of the offseason. Like picking up dummervil and Monroe for pennies on the dollar. It's all in finding the the right structure. Probably a large signing bonus with a longer than normal contract.

Cleveland has a ton of cap space, they're not letting Mack go to a division rival.

That is a big surprise. Still you can see what kovie wants to do. Fix the trenches and run the ball. Doug Martin top 5 fantasy player this year.

That's why we are biding our time. Watching Cleveland waste money every day. They haven't had a bad signing yet today. Still waiting.

It'd be a bit of a coup if Melton goes to Minne.  I'm trying to envision how that defense would come together if that's the case.  I figure they become more situational and make Floyd play 3-tech with Joseph and 1-tech with Melton in a max rush package or something like that.

Now that Steve Smith is a raven, it will be interesting to see the balance in targets before Torrey and Steve. In previous Kubiak offenses the WR2 hardly got the ball. Targets mainly went to WR1 and TEs. I expect it to be more balanced with these two however.

Kevin Walter was productive for Kubiak, but they didn't have a lot of options outside of Andre Johnson.  And he's a HoF talent so that makes sense.

He really only had 1-2 productive seasons. But I think the two Smith's will have a substantially more balanced utilization than Walter-Johnson. Assuming Pitta stays healthy, Flacco will have a lot more to work with this season.

that is as big front. Interesting. I love the Floyd-Joseph combo. Melton seems unnecessary. What do they have at end? Then again. I will trust Zimmers input on putting together a defense.

Everson Griffen and Brian Robinson.  Robinson is a pretty decent LE, I'm still puzzled why someone who wasn't a starter got big money though like Griffen did.  I figured they view Floyd as the 3-tech, so I agree Melton seems a bit unnecessary, but they could definitely use depth.

He's gone!  He's gone!  He's finally gone!  Hallelujah!  Michael Oher to the Titans on a 4 year deal worth $20 million with $9.5 million guaranteed.

Suckers.
