Britts an injury prone head case. What part of that does Belichick like? NIcks might have been a possibility before the fines surfaced.

He usually targets those head cases with some potential and tries to make something out of them. It's not like Brady didn't deal with that before with Moss. If it's a cheap signing, I could see it happen.

I thought this was very disrespectful...........

Oher is not a left tackle. He's not even a very good right tackle

How dare he say that about a Super Bowl Champion Offensive Lineman. They would be honored to have such a great left tackle like Oher. Only reason we moved him to RT was because Jacksonville was essentially giving away Monroe to us.

I hope one of the Panthers, Raiders, Bengals (unlikely due to the owner) or Buccaneers signs Michael Oher and gives him LT money. That would be just grand. It would make this off-season just splendid.

Moss had significant upside though.

Unfortunately I think many teams know what we know and they aren't willing to give him big time money. That might be why there is essentially no market for him at all(if there is, his agent is doing a great job keeping it a secret).

Best wideout in the league upside?

Tom Brady will be throwing to him with a (historically) good OL. Britt hasn't really had that luxury. He's not a great WR and has gone down since his early years where he looked like a legit threat, but if you can get Britt on a bargain playing with Tom Brady with that OL and a good enough run game with Gronkowski then you might have something. Yes, I think Britt could work in NE. It's a good spot for him.

We're also not discussing "best WO in the league upside" We're talking about a player who can move the chains, get TD, whatever in the NE offense.

I'm pretty sure the remaining 14 teams in the AFC should just give up and the NFL should just skip to the Patriots vs Broncos AFC Title Game.

At least that's what it sounds when you listen to the media.

Going to be fun watching the Ravens get back to the playoffs and spoil that party again!

The Decker deal actually isn't as bad as I was expecting.  He might be able to produce a little, he put up somewhat respectable numbers with Tebow.  Tebow passing yards and TDs should count double for the receivers as inaccurate as he is as a passer.

Not a done deal, but I think #Raiders fans will be a lot happier in the morning. Especially if you like pass rushers.

Yay

Still have no idea what OL to target. Maybe go after Colon on the cheap if Howard can recruit him.

Browner is visiting the Pats as well, that would be an interesting tandem.  I wonder if Cromartie will get any consideration from them.  He was bad last year and had stretches where he's been awful in his career, but he was very productive as the guy across from Revis during his time with the Jets.  Apparently his market is virtually nonexistent, so he might be cheap.

I don't think that's my problem with it - my problem is he seems to have prioritized a reality TV series in his deal.  The Jets keep bringing in guys who have their lives focused seemingly on everything BUT football.  Maybe that works if you're a freak of nature talent like TO or Moss, but how much of Eric Decker last year was not just Peyton Manning under center, but Peyton's insistence on all the offseason workouts and his WRs and TEs knowing his offense so well they can run it in their sleep?  Is Decker going to have the same kind of focus in the media mecca of New York, on a team that prides itself on its media attention more than the on-field product, with a quarterback who isn't good enough to be Peyton's backup's backup?  The Jets paid Decker more than Anquan Boldin got, when they're polar opposites in terms of both on-field accomplishments and their obvious dedication to the game.  However much you pay a guy like Q, the one thing you know is you're going to get everything he's got on every snap, and in every OTA.  I can't say the same about Decker.

Eagles traded for Sproles. Incredible fit for what Kelly wants to do, and it's not a bad thing to lessen McCoy's load.

Boy, we sure did dodge a huge bullet on signing Monroe already. If Saffold had failed his physical before we locked Monroe up, Monroe would probably not be a Raven for the next 5 years. The Raiders would have overpaid him, just like they vastly overpaid Saffold.

I'm saying Belichick may not want to deal with Brit if he doesn't have that kind of upside.

I look at Britt the same way I see Hakeem Nicks. Injuries have sapped their talent. Yes both are young, but both have battled injuries constantly with production trending downward.

For the right deal, you can justify any player.

We'll see. I think Britt has upside because of previous play. I could see Bill signing him because of that upside, his level of control over the team, as well as the fact that he has Tom Brady. Then again, I still think he'll attack WR in the draft as well.

Well, duh, you can justify any player but isn't that what we're discussing? Injuries don't necessarily sap your talent. Hell, DHB didn't look good at all and then he goes to the Colts and has decent production. The Patriots even set a precedent last year by signing Amendola, who's arguably more injury-prone than either player mentioned. From both of these examples, we can ascertain that there's nothing to suggest the Patriots wouldn't sign Britt or Nicks. In fact, comparable historical evidence by the team suggests contrary, as they have signed players such as Haynesworth and acquired Moss as well. These are historical evidence that support the claim that the Patriots would do such a thing.

In conclusion, from previous team behavior on free agent acquisitions as well as trade, we can assume that the Patriots could be in the market for a WR such as Britt or Nicks. Both of these WRs do have explosion and can make game-changing plays, though both have had their share of injuries. Ultimately, precedents set as late as last year suggest the Patriots would easily take a flier on Nicks or Britt.

Darrelle Revis contract: two years, $32 million, $11.5 million guaranteed, $10 million bonus, salaries of $1.5 million, $7.5 million.

I thought it was a one year deal?  That's a whooooooole lotta money.

patsies need to confirm later in the first year if they activate 20mil option for year two

James Harrison released by the Bengals.

Was I wrong in thinking he played well last year? PFF isn't mobile friendly to get some numerical context on that.
