YES! Good for Revis taking less (12mil, 1-yr deal) & Pats offering more than thought they would. I think NE just won next year's AFC title.

We might as well not try to compete next season, I guess. :D

I wonder sometimes how people like him get paid thousands for saying gibberish.

He does know how to make people angry. Not that it's hard to anger sports fans, but he can keep that anger going by jumping from one outlandish statement to another.

If the Pats think one corner is going to save their team...well more power to 'em.

It's a good signing for them for sure, but that defense has too many holes for just one CB to fill. Not to mention, that they could use some more reliable receivers with their recent TE problems.

LOL Never post another skip tweet here again. All they did was upgrade the position they lost. Talib was a great corner last year and they lost the AFCCG. whats the difference now? their defense as a whole is still terrible.

Brady singlehandedly held their offense together last season - I am rather surprised that they wouldn't be making a splash in the offensive FA market rather than the defensive FA market.

Tom is only getting old, he can only make a horrendous offensive corps for so long.

LOL, Belichick has lost his touch. Won't trade for him at $16M but pay him $12M.

Meanwhile we get to enjoy Jimmy Smith for another two years and Seahawks get to enjoy Sherman cheap and Revis becomes a cap casualty because they can't afford him.

It's a one year deal. That's the shocking part to me. Very un patriot like. Revis is free to fleece another team next yr.

Perhaps thats the best type of contract for Revis.  Gives him the utmost incentive to play at his best, rather than sign a huge contract and play decently.

Well [profanity deleted], broncos buy everyone so they can try and buy a title (how the hell have they not surpassed the salary cap by far yet) and we get an old revis to cover the spot talib just opened up. We better re-sign edelman and do well in the draft.

You're really disappointed that you just signed Revis?  He was still a top 5 CB last year.

He was the top CB last year in a bad scheme for him.

I thought that was the case but didn't want to misquote.

Meh revis doesn't help us at all really for the future (hence the 1 year prove your worth deal) i'm ok with talib leaving since he looked meh in the second half of the season last year and got iced up by steve smith and also in both afc title games he was in he got injured early and cost us. I hope we get a good tight end and some more defensive help in the draft

This is true - but frankly, if you hadn't been able to sign Talib and had to tag him, you'd pretty much be paying him what you're paying Revis for a year of service.  Revis is a great upgrade from Talib, and I don't know if you guys would have been willing to lock up Talib long term anyway, so is a very good signing nonetheless.

The secret is in the amount of crap they say. That amount must be huge.

yeah its not a bad signing, but I would prefer that we stop signing DBs that are injury prone or on borrowed time like adrian wilson

LOL Saffold failed the physical and won't be signing with the Raiders.  I think they realized they're dumb and had the team docs lie to get out of a bad deal.

That's best for revis. Unless he gets injured again. He is betting on himself. But I don't think his motivation has ever been in question. It hurts the team because they eat that top dollar contract. It's not spread out or pro rated. 100% guaranteed.

I'm not sure what is worse, the contract they would have given him, or that they offered that contract and he then fails a physical.

I wish they would.  Get him off the market before Ozzie does something he'll regret.

The entire Raiders FO is a joke.  This only solidifies this fact.  They've got tons of money to spend, are in desperate need of an offensive line, and out of free agency have now come out with absolutely nothing.

Frankly, I think it would have been less embarrassing to have signed him to such a bad contract.  At least then they could say they attempted to fix it.

I do wonder how this will change the rest of the FA market.  I'm not too up to date on what else the Raiders are looking for (I'm guessing its pretty much anything).  Wonder if this will inflate any other contracts.
