$31M for Golden Tate? Unless the replacement officials are coming back, Lions over paid.

Well he could turn all those Matt Stafford interceptions into touchdowns lol

Not really...they desperately need WR help beyond Megatron and Tate is a pretty good WR2. He put up some respectable stats considering the crummy WRs he had around him in Seattle. With Megatron and possibly Watkins, Lee, or Evans on the field with him...he will be making some plays in that pass heavy offense.

Ha - I am at work so I did not.  Guess you weren't getting ahead of yourself :D

I haven't and I can't be happier! I'm starting to get a good feeling about how will this post season turn out.

Ugh 3.5 million per year for Jacoby is too much. He is an above average return man and thats it. Would have rather let him go and signed Trindon Holiday. Don't like this deal

I would have preferred to pay him a little less, but it's not that big a deal. Sometimes you have to compromise a bit to get things done, and JJ is worth it. He's been great for us the past two years and is still only 29.

Bucs cut Revis. He was scheduled to make $16 million in 2014. He's good, but not that good.

Jacoby Jones to us over Holiday is just about as bad as Rodger Saffold to Raiders as a LT over Veldheer, Monroe etc...

Its not so much its an awful deal, but we could have done so much better for so much less.

His guaranteed money is ridiculously low though.  Combined with the huge increases in the cap over the next few years, his impact on our ability to sign other players will be extremely minimal.

Jacoby offers so much more at WR than Holliday does. Not to mention his contract only has 4.5 million guaranteed. That's not bad to for bringing in someone familiar with the team.

Yes but his contract compared to the vet minimum we could have gave Holiday to do the exact same thing (probably more effectively for a longer period given he is younger) is basically Veldheer to Saffold. The deal isn't awful because it affects the cap, the deal is awful because he could have got the same if not greater production for so much cheaper.

Actually he's the best return man in the league right now. Holiday might be close but one hit and he is done for. He is tiny. Jones when playing as the third wr offers a lot to this team. Well worth this modest deal.

Weeden and Campbell are gone in Cleveland.

Could it be they're finally coming to their senses over in the Mistake by the Lake?

No. Just clearing space to make all new mistakes. They aren't any better today than yesterday. In fact took a large step back from ward to whitner.

Yes but Holiday would take 4x less and on top of that isn't near age 30, and would do essentially the same thing as Jacoby. Jones as a situational deep threat isn't worth 4x the money when his primary function is to return the ball. Like I said its not the that the deal itself is egregious, its just egregious comparatively.

Geoff Schwart's deal was 16.8 mil with 6.2 guaranteed over 4 years. Dammit Ozzie, this one you definitely dropped the ball on.

Zane Beadles got roughly twice as much. Mind boggling.

Corey Graham gets $4M per year. Thats a shame.

I'm not sure he's worth that. Let Buffalo have him.

That worries me as well, but its the Jags so can't be shocked. Im just upset the Ravens passed up on him

They apparently want Schaub. Get ready for some crazy pick 6's in the AFC North next year.

Agreed. Wouldn't mind trading down and drafting Verrett to play the slot role.

Can't pay everyone, and there are plenty of good fits along the OL in the draft. Don't forget the off season is more than just FA.

Seriously they want to be the Texans. Gordon = Johnson, Tate = Foster, O-line talent is roughly the same, defensive talent is arguably better.

For the Browns though, that would actually be a very good improvement tho.

Webb is the better slot guy, he's a Woodson type of corner that's very versatile. Graham got a lot of action on the outside.

Looks like another position we might need to draft, although there are a few decent corners left maybe Mike Jenkins or Carlos Rodgers.

I didn't forget. I also realize we have a lot of holes with fewer than normal draft picks. Ozzie's best years drafting have a hit rate of about 50%. We have some extra cap this year that could have been used to extend the Smiths, sign a couple of linemen, make a play at Revis (lol), etc... We could have paid Schwartz and likely got supreme value (especially at that price). Asamoah would have been a nice one as well.

I just don't like Ozzie putting all his Chips in a 50/50 basket like that.

Not disagreeing but unless you have some serious talent at outside corner, you usually leave outside corners outside (unless situational football dictates otherwise).

Edit: Jacoby's deal really upsets me in light of what Schwartz got.
