There are rumors flying around that Harbs is interested in the Texas or Michigan job . Reportedly he has been offered 5 years 60 million dollar deal from Texas . Or was it 6 years 50 mill? What do you guys think ?

There are rumors, but they are simply that: rumors.  This started in November, dissipated completely after there was no basis, and is now back since we're not in the playoffs.

The only reason I could see him leaving nfl coaching would be the working hours. But surely college would be as time intensive as nfl.

Go!

Anyone who does an onside kick with 12 minutes left against a division rival after you just scored a TD deserves college!

But I'll miss some qualities of Harbs. But wouldn't shed a tear. Let's go get Coach Tomlin, Norv Turner at the OC and Ray Horton on the DC movement. Then...

LET'S GO WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP! Woo!

I'd heard about Jim Harbaugh before related to college coaching but this is the first I heard about our coach.

A Michigan alum spreading a rumor. Harbaughs come right after God in Michigan.

Good point. As the article says...

Michigan AD Dave Brandon stated a month ago that Brady Hoke was the right man to lead Michigan football. Will that declaration hold true if perhaps the best coach in all of football (at least in the top 5 with Saban, Urban Meyer, Belichick and Jim Harbaugh) is waiting by the phone hoping you offer him a job?

I like Harbs and all, but the best coach in all of football? Probably a little bias in that statement.

The Ravens lost to the Bengals on Sunday, eliminating them from NFL playoff contention. Late Sunday night, two people close to Harbaugh made contact with the Michigan boosters who contacted Harbaugh six weeks ago.  The message was this: John wants to make a move and there are a lot of teams inquiring about him. If Michigan makes an offer, he will accept. But, it has to happen quickly

^ Interesting!

So a website that I've never heard of and no major places are picking it up. Not happening.

Exactly. As I said, "source."

Reminds me of the crap Bleacher Report started during the draft a few years back.

Exactly'! There is also a petition being circulated my Michigan fans which we will not host here.
Here is a piece from a book all about the search:http://www.thepostgame.com/features/201110/book-excerpt-how-michigan-chose-rich-rodriguez-and-brady-hoke-instead-les-miles-and-

Here is the source all this all coming from:
Exclusive: Texas, USC and Michigan to pursue John Harbaugh as next coach
http://www.chatsports.com/texas-longhorns/a/Exclusive-Texas-USC-and-Michigan-to-pursue-John-Harbaugh-as-next-coach-10-136-455
This is NOT a credible site and this is where they lost me John is just entering his sixth year as we all know:“The NFL is a grinding gig and he has proven that he’s arguably the best coach in the league right now. But, many of his core pieces that have been with him for six or seven years have left the team, and he looks at the college game and looks at the glory and dominance that a coach like Saban or Urban are getting and gets a tad envious.” the source added.

Why would he - some necessary but straightforward offseason changes and this team is right back to competing for a Superbowl.  This isn't Nick Saban, leaving after 2 years and a 6-10 season.  Whether you think he had much to do with it or not, Harbaugh has had one of the most successful head coaching runs to start a career in NFL history, and unlike a certain division rival of his, he didn't inherit a team that had won a Superbowl 2 years earlier with an already entrenched starting quarterback.

Man, I hate the offseason and the heightened ignorance that it brings.

Can a moderator do us the favor of closing this thread now?
Thanks in advance.

We're damned if we do and damned if we don't. We tried to make it "go away" twice but the rumor kept popping back up. At least this way we can merge until this dies on its own.
