Ravens 2014 Opponents

Finishing third in the division has its perks. And we finally get the chargers in Bmore!

Of course there's no way of knowing exactly how any of these teams will perform in 2014, but this looks much more manageable to me than this year.

HOME: Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, San Diego Chargers, Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers.

AWAY: Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Miami Dolphins, Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers.

10-6 and we win the division.

Holy crap. Its been so long since we were so bad I forgot how nice it is to have a schedule like this. If the Ravens can get over that "playing down to their opponent" thing they should find their way back to the postseason in 2014.

Jacksonville and Atlanta I'm looking forward to - the last meeting for both of those teams left a sour taste in my mouth.  8 carries for Rice vs. the Jags, and the famous Roddy White pushoff for a TD at the end of the Atlanta game.

I'm going to wait until at least the draft to try and make predictions.

Years and years ago when the Ravens played in San Diego a buddy of mine who lives in San Diego tole me " You get the ticket out here, I will get you into the game.  "  ( it was the year Ray Lewis tackled Sproles for a loss )
Well 2014 is my chance to finally return the favor to my buddy, so I will at least be at that one.

and the Ravens are 32-3 on games I have attended.

Unless some major coaching changes take place, I see another 8-8 season. Just saw that Caldwell was only given a 1 year extention last season. So his contract is up. I think Ozzie will wait to see who comes available to take over at OC. Personally I would like Pees gone as well!

No away games west of southeast Texas sounds good to me! :)

Frankly this schedule is easy in comparison to some of our previous schedules. I see 11 wins and the division.

We lost to a 4-12 team this season; looks like a rough schedule to me.

Harbaugh said our coaching staff is great ... could be another 8-8 season without some coaching changes.

Colts and Saints on the road is pretty tough. Not to mention Carolina and Atlanta at home. I think this is a pretty tough schedule for a 3rd place finish. Please don't forget we lost to 3 rookie or backups QBs this year.

WHOA!!! Hold the phones! We don't travel to San Diego this time?!?! This must be a mistake

Not only that - no west coast trip at all.

No further than NO & Indy. Not bad travelling wise.

Don't forget Houston, too.  But still not bad traveling wise.

This schedule isn't that difficult. Add in the fact that there's no way our running game and our O-line can possibly be as bad as last year and I see us coming out 10-6. Also I feel as though missing the post season for the first time in 5 years really has everyone fired up to improve as much as possible for 2014.

No Denver, no patsies, no Detroit or Chicago away, no trips out west.  Much more manageable than the past couple of years. And the hope is that there will be improvement in the Team next year.

I realize that you shouldn't underestimate anything, but c'mon, this is easily the easiest schedule we've had in a long time. All of our home games are winnable if we get back to form, and the Steelers and Browns likely won't be much competition next year in the scheme of things. We will find ways to struggle though and gain 4 or 5 losses, but I see us doing extremely well at home again and splitting our road games to win the division back.

Look... it's silly to say "this is an easy or hard schedule."

But I think the bigger point, and probablt the OP's main purpose was pointing out this:

The Ravens avoid seeing Manning and Brady in the regular season.  This means they don't get a live look and 4 quarters to jot down the Ravens defensive calls and tendencies to use against them in a possible playoff rematch.

Sure, there's film.  But it's not the same.  And if nothing else.... it might save some face and avoid the Ravens(and fans) being gut-punched in the middle of the season.

The main thing is win the division.  And to do that, they have to figure out how to beat the Bengals and Steelers.  And when you play the Browns starting Jason Campbell.... you DOMINATE THEM, you don't fool around.  Harbaugh needs to get his act together very quickly.  Following down the same road of Brian Billick where he's more concerned about trying to be short/sarcastic/snyde to the media and fans.... instead of being the best coach he can be.

I think it looks pretty tough. NFC south may be best division next year. I'm already nervous about facing Carolina.
